If your dogs are like our dogs, they like to be outside no matter the weather. If your dogs are even more like our dogs, they don’t think about the temperature as they charge out the door looking for something to pee on. When it gets down into the lower reaches of cold, even the heartiest furry friend can use an extra layer. The Kurgo Loft Jacket is perfect to add some extra warmth to your pooch’s coat.

Made from waterproof nylon ripstop and 140g synthetic insulation, the Loft is designed to keep your dog’s core warm. It’s not a full-coverage jacket. The Loft slips on easily and adjusts with two velcro strips to fit your dog comfortably. A two-way zipper on the back allows access to a harness or collar under the jacket. Reflective details keep your dog visible in low light.

Now that it’s finally cold here, we sent one of the Engearment dogs, JD, out into the yard to try it out. He’s never been skittish about wearing jackets, but he took to the Loft especially well after a short adjustment period and now gets excited when we pull it out because he knows it means he’s going outside. The Loft slips on easily and sizes well and the zippers make for easy harness access. Toss on the Loft and some booties and he’s ready to head out in any weather!

Our soft measuring tape is AWOL at the moment, so we guessed on sizing. A small fits him with just a bit of room to spare. While he’s not a huge dog at 22 lbs, he does have a deep chest. We suggest measuring – use a piece of string, cord, or webbing around the chest and flatten it on a normal tape measure or yard stick to ensure proper sizing. Otherwise, you may guess wrong and end up with a jacket that won’t close or one that lets cold air in because it’s too big.
