Hydro Flask Trail Series Lightweight Bottle Review – 25% Lighter and Stunning
The new Hydro Flask Trail Series is a revolutionary bottle design. 25% lighter than other Hydro Flask designs. I have been using this 24 oz Lightweight bottle for several months and love it. These new bottles release here in a few weeks and I would recommend grabbing one!
Hydro Flask Trail Series
Stunning is not a word I have ever used to describe a water bottle. But, damn, these new Hydro Flask Trail Series bottles are good looking! During our Outdoor Retailer meeting, the Hydro Flask crew hooked me up with a prototype version of the Trail Series and I was impressed. So impressed, that it was with me every day for the next several months. I have a lot of insulated water bottles, but this one really impressed me.
Somehow, they made these Trail Series bottles 25% lighter than other insulated bottles. They did this and still maintained the same insulation properties – keeping drinks cold for 24 hours and warm for 6 hours. By tapering the walls and making them thinner at the top, and thicker at the bottom, they were able to achieve this.
Not that this is that important of a factor to me, but they do look stunning. The form factor and colors are classy and look good in urban settings, as well as on the trail and in the mountains. I love the Obsidian, Clay and Slate metal colors.
Lightweight, but what about Ultralight?
For all you gram weenies out there, Hydro Flask will be offering a Titanium version of these bottles in May 2020. I have seen it in person and it is LIGHT! The cost is appropriate for such a creation – $100 for a 21-ounce bottle. Stay tuned for this awesome ultralight bottle! It is sure to please the most weight-conscious backpacker.
