Nixon Hauler 35L Backpack Review – Skateboard Carry and So Much More
The Nixon Hauler 35L backpack may be aimed at skaters, but it is also a great everyday backpack for students, content creators, and urban use.
Nixon is quite well known for their skateboard based backpacks and watches. They sent over the Hauler 35L and Escape Duffle for us to check out. Now, I am not a skater (was a long time ago!) but I do appreciate a good backpack. Heck, we have dozens of backpack reviews up!
What I like about this pack, and why it has been my everyday backpack for the last 2 months of so, is that is comfortable, has good pockets, and carries everything I need it to carry. Plus, it is made of recycled materials.
Repreve Recycled Materials
If you have not heard of Repreve yet, you will soon. Â They have partnered with a lot of great companies to bring great, durable materials to market. Â All made from recycled plastic water bottles. Very impressive. Â It is great to see Nixon working with them to create some awesome backpacks.
Organization
There are 2 side zip pockets, one fleece-lined for sunglasses.  On top, you find the handy, quick hit pocket.  There is a sizable shoe pocket on the bottom.  The main pocket unzips all the way open, allowing complete access to the contents.  The side zip laptop pocket can hold a 15″ laptop, even in a case.  Then there is one more zip pocket on the inside panel.
There are 2 stretch pockets on the inside that are good to carry water bottles and items of that size. Â If there is anything I would ask for, it is an external water bottle sleeve. Â I am just used to having that on the backpacks I test, so I am sure you will get by without it.
Skateboard carry
Being Nixon, they have included a skateboard carry system. Â I am sure this feature will be appreciated by their target audience. Â I used it to carry tripods and jackets, so it came in handy. Â They have the skateboard carry on the Escape Duffle bag that we are testing as well.
