Jones Snowboards introduced their skins last year and we loved them. They are made by a Swiss company called Pomoca and they are top notch. We loved last years skins over every other we tried, so we gave a go at the new and improved Jones Snowboards Premium Climbing Skins for this year. Did they really make the best skin even better? Read more to find out.

I was looking for a weather resistant, durable, reflective, stylish bike commuter back pack to carry the tools I need to for a day at the office. The bag needed to have a dedicated laptop sleeve, hopefully an iPad sleeve, at least one water bottle sleeve, organizing pockets for pens, business cards, pens, cables and a jacket and pants. A pretty tall order and one that had yet to be met. Until I found The North Face Kaban Charged Laptop Backpack. This thing is a game changer. I will elaborate on why.
There are a lot of insulated, stainless steel water bottles out there, but none, that I have seen yet, come with a tea strainer. The Eco Vessel Boulder water bottle does. If you enjoy brewing loose tea on the go and want to keep it warm for up to eight hours, then this is an ideal set up for you.
The Nite Ize Inova STS bike light keeps coming out on top of our available bike lights. It mounts directly to the handlebars or seatpost and looks like a headlamp - for your bike. The light itself is pretty impressive and puts out plenty of useful illumination (up to 140 lumens!!) Sean let his coworker borrow it for a night ride home and is having trouble getting it back from him, its that good!
Snow gear, by its nature, has to balance form and function. Someone could make the most amazing gear in the world, but no one would buy it if it looked like crap. The problem is, everyone has different taste - you like blue, I like green. To solve this problem, most companies offer their snow googles in a huge variety of colorways. One of the top companies offers 18 different options on their top model. But that doesn't solve a major problem - if you want two goggle colors, you have to buy two sets of goggles. Sungod does things differently with their Revolt goggles. Before the SunGod Revolt, no one combined top quality optics with fully customizable style.
Sometimes, thermal mugs can look goofy or out of place in the real world. The new Avex ReCharge thermal mug keeps your drinks at the right temperature and looks good while doing it. But any insulated mug can keep your drink hot/cold. What's so great about this one? The Avex ReCharge thermal mug features a nifty, leak-proof design called AUTOSEAL that actually works to prevent leaks of your precious fluids.
Sean is a picky backpack tester, like really picky. He was searching for a day pack that was around 30 liters, had a nice amount of features - such as multiple pockets, side water sleeves, hip pockets, adjustability - and a good back panel that allowed for structure and breathability. So he found himself with the Boreas Muir Woods 30. It has been reviewed by others but he needed to get his hands (and back) into it and see if it was Engearment-worthy.
A couple of years ago, Sierra Designs flipped their entire line of products on its head. They were in a bit of a rut - heavy packs with no innovative features, boring tents (ed.: Except the Tengu! We love you, Tengu!), uninspired sleeping bags and outerwear. Within the past two years, they've introduced industry-leading light weight tents and innovative sleeping bags like their Backcountry Bed. The Sierra Designs Convert 2 and Convert 3 4-season tents look to be the pinnacle of that shakeup.
Barefoot running has been getting a lot of traction (puny!) over the last few years, with an almost cult like following. Inspired by the Tarahumara Indians of Mexico - who made their huaraches sandals out of tires and string, then would run on them for very long distances. Steven and Lena Sashen are making some really cool minimalist (like really minimalist) sandals called Xero Shoes that are getting good recognition from runners, outdoor enthusiasts, paddle boarders and lots of folks who just like to feel the ground beneath them.
