Mountain Hardwear Exposure Light Goretex Glove – The Best Backcountry Glove Yet

The new Mountain Hardwear Exposure Light Goretex Glove is a fantastic glove for backcountry ski and splitboarding. Featuring GoreTex and Pittards leather for durability. But the real magic of this glove is the highly breathable, yet warm insulation.

Mountain Hardwear Exposure Light Goretex Glove Review

Looking for a pair of durable, waterproof and warm gloves for backcountry skiing or splitboarding? Then check out the Mountain Hardwear Exposure Light Goretex glove. These are the best gloves I have used yet, for these and other conditions.  That is saying quite a bit as we have tested a lot of great gloves over the years!

GoreTex

These gloves feature a GoreTex liner so you know they will keep you dry as well as breathe.  The WPB insert does a great job of keeping your hands dry and does not add any crinkle sound. I have tested some gloves that make noise because of the waterproof-breathable insert.  Not these though!

Pittards Leather

Pittards is like the gold standard for leather goods.  It is a trusted leather for a reason – it feels good and it lasts.  I have a few pairs of Pittard’s leather gloves that are over a decade old and are still going strong.  Plus, they just look good.

The magic is in the insulation

Primaloft Gold Eco with Cross Core is what is used in these gloves. Basically, Primaloft incorporated aerogel into the synthetic insulation and created very good, compressible, breathable, and warm insulation. I hope to see this insulation in more clothing soon!  It just works.  We first used this insulation in the Patagonia DAS Parka and were impressed.  Good job Mountain Hardwear!

Great for cold weather adventures

These gloves were great for snowstorms here in Colorado.  I used them for hiking, shoveling snow, walking the dogs, winter camping, and will be using them a lot more for splitboarding in the coming months.  I appreciate the dexterity and low profile of the glove.  Somehow, they are warm without being bulky.  In fact, they have felt warmer than some mittens we are testing right now!

There are a few versions and styles in this lineup, and they all are going to be good.  Pick what style you like (in this case I went with under cuff) and enjoy some cold weather shenanigans.  These gloves are going to treat you well!
