Patagonia Micro Puff vs DAS Light vs Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer 2 – what is the best lightweight puffy for your needs? I will do my best to cover the similarities and differences of each to help you decide which one is best for you!

Each of these puffy jackets is very good and I can recommend them each.  Below are the individual reviews for them.  Before I do the full-on comparison, let’s go over what I am trying to do with this write-up and video.  Each of these jackets is 10-12 ounces for size XL.  All of them have similar amounts of insulation.  They all have 10D materials as well.

The DAS Light beats out the Micro Puff for warmth and weather protection.  The Micro Puff $299 will pack up smaller and weighs a few ounces less though. So, keep that in mind. Here is the full write up on the Micro Puff.

Ghost Whisperer 2 – The Down One

Now the Micro Puff and DAS Light both have synthetic PlumaFill insulation, that mimics down.  But the MH Ghost Whisperer 2 $325 features high end 800 fill RDS Hydro Down that is treated to be water-resistant.  So, it made the comparison as I felt like the down was as weather-resistant as the synthetic insulation.  Plus, it packs up very small and lofts up well.

Final opinion on which one I would choose

While each of these jackets is very similar in price, weight, insulations, materials, and fit, the DAS Light is my favorite.  The added PU protection, adjustable hood, and warmth have won me over.  Let us know what your favorite one is below! Love to hear your opinions!
