SAXX is known for their “BallPark Pouch” construction that keeps your manhood supported and keeps abrasions down. Match that with a high-quality gym short and you have the SAXX Kinetic Train and Pilot shorts.
I became a big fan of SAXX after testing their Kinetic boxer brief. The Kinetic boxers are my new favorite boxer. I am an active guy; I spend hours in the gym training clients and I spend hours in the mountains enjoying all kinds of activities. The BallPark Pouch system really seems to work. When SAXX told us about their gym short with the Kinetic boxer brief built in, we knew it would be good.
SAXX Kinetic Train Fit and Function
The first time I tried the Train shorts on I was blown away. The fit is perfect. Not restrictive or too baggy. The hand pockets are functional and even have a zippered right pocket for your valuables. The material of the Kinetic Train shorts (100% polyester) is light, stretchy, and breathable. SAXX’s Kinetic liner is perfectly matched to the shorts – one streamlined unit. The Pilot has a 5” inseam and the Kinetic Train is 9” long. For fit, I went with the medium for both. I am 33” waist and the medium was a perfect fit. The Pilot is an even lighter weight material (52% nylon, 48% polyester) and has no hand pockets, though it does have a hidden pocket in the rear waist.
How I tested the SAXX Kinetic Shorts
I used the Kinetic shorts for training myself in the gym, from kettlebells to TRX to yoga. The Kinetics was hands down my favorite athletic waist I have ever used. I used the Kinetic Train more often if I was in a public gym because I prefer that length. At home when I was training, either size worked well. If I were a runner, the Pilot 5” would probably have been my choice. The materials of both shorts are very lightweight and feel like you are barely wearing anything.
Final thoughts on the SAXX Kinetic Train and Pilot Shorts
These are easily the best athletic shorts I have ever used. Trust me, once you try a pair you won’t go back to your old ones. In fact, SAXX has a “Comfort Guarantee” that if you don’t like them, you can get your money back. Not that you would want to, but it is a comforting option. So there you have it. If you are a man that appreciates quality athletic shorts and want to avoid any kind of friction or uncomfortableness when exercises – the Kinetic Train and Pilot shorts should be at the top of your list. For general gym use, the Kinetic Train is best. For runners, the Pilot would be better.
