Hoka One One Gaviota 2 – Updated Stability and Breathability

The Gaviota was a hit with us when it came out in 2017. You can read all about that review here.  For 2019, Hoka tweaks the upper with engineered mesh.  You still get the extreme comfort plus stability!Hoka One One Gaviota 2 - Updated Stability and Breathability 5

Running on clouds

I am not the first one to say this, but I will confirm it.  Hoka shoes are like running on clouds.  I am not a good runner and make no claims to know much about it.  But I do enjoy comfortable shoes and spend a lot of time on my feet as a fitness coach.  In the times that I do find myself running, I prefer to do so in Hokas as they are just so dang comfortable.

Balanced cushion

To me, Hoka’s “balanced cushion” is still mega cushion compared to most other shoes.  And I like that!  These road shoes have a 5.mm heel-toe drop and moderate traction. Making them at home on smoother surfaces.  Though, I have used them on plenty of dirt paths and been fine.

J-Frame

The J-Frame is Hoka’s way of supporting the foot without stiff orthotic like materials. It just rubberized foam and it adds to the rebound in the shoe. The molded OthoLite sock liner is a real treat as it seems to hold the foot in place like a….. sock 🙂 Trust me, it feels just right.

The Graviota 2 is a real treat for the feet. Men’s $150 and Women’s $150
