This spring, Skratch adds a new flavor to its popular crispy rice cake line: Salted Maple and Mallow.
The Skratch Salted Maple and Mallow Crispy Rice Cake is for those who crave a little bit of sweetness, but don’t want something overly sweet. While my boyfriend has always been a fan of the Strawberry and Mallow, I have found that flavor and also the Chocolate and Mallow a bit too sweet. Therefore, I was thrilled to discover the subtle sweetness of the Salted Maple and Mallow flavor.

I recently took it for a sunny hike up near Hoosier Pass. On a 20-degree bluebird day at 11,542 feet, it maintained its shape and did not melt.
Note that in the summer, I have previously made the mistake of keeping a Skratch crispy rice cake in one of the back pockets of my cycling jersey. After riding several hours at high elevation with the hot sun beating down on me, I have sometimes had a melted mess, even if the frosting side is facing my back.
In contrast, I think that the Skratch Salted Maple and Mallow Crispy Rice Cake is ideal for hiking or camping, when I want a sweet burst of wholesome goodness and can stow it in a pack where it won’t get as exposed to the sun as it would be in the back of my cycling jersey.
An adult version of the rice krispie treat of our childhood (but ever so much better), the Skratch Salted Maple and Mallow Crispy Rice Cake is packed with energy and made from real food ingredients including puffed brown, red, and wild rices and toasted red quinoa.

Somehow, Skratch has managed to not only make a tasty, sweet snack without junk ingredients, but a snack that is easy to digest and packs an energy boost.
One of four Crispy Rice Cakes offered by Skratch, the Skratch Salted Maple and Mallow Crispy Cake will be available to consumers in late April 2023.
