BruTrek OVRLNDR Press – Perfect for Camping and Road Tripping

I’m new to the french press game, and I am a fan. I’ve always thought these contraptions seemed so fancy, but this OVRLNDR Press – part of Planetary Design’s line of BruTrek coffee gear – couldn’t be easier! The BruTrek OVRLNDR Press is portable and durable which makes it perfect for camping or road tripping.

For me, the two highlights of a camping trip are relaxing in my hammock, and drinking a good, hot cup of coffee in the morning. The key, and the hardest part, is a GOOD cup of coffee.. On group camping trips, I’ve seen the morning coffee game range from instant (not for me) to complicated and messy coffee makers that take forever to brew. With the OVERLNDR Press, my morning cup of joe was delicious, quick and easy.

 

I tossed in my coffee grounds, added some hot water and enjoyed the view for a few minutes.  The final step is to press down the plunger and Viola! You are supposed to use course grounds, and mine were a little more fine in consistency but it didn’t seem to matter because my coffee still turned out sentiment free.

In addition to good coffee, this press allows for an on-the-go, one-pot experience. You can brew and drink right out of it by popping open the top. Personally, I’m a one-cupper so this 28-ounce size made enough for me to share. I’m also a slow sipper, so being able to drink straight from the insulated press kept my coffee warm on a chilly morning outside.

Cleaning was a breeze – this french press has 3 pieces that screw apart easily, so once you’re finished using it you can give it a simple rinse and call it a day. The bottom screws off completely making it really easy to get in there with a sponge for a deeper clean.
