Hilleberg New 2021 – 2 new models for 2021

Hilleberg is proud to introduce two new tent models for 2021: The Black Label Soulo BL, a very strong, remarkably roomy and fully freestanding all-season solo tent, and the Yellow Label Helags, available in a 2 and a 3 person version, a very light, two vestibule tunnel tent built for the snow-free months of the year.

Based on the original, Red Label Soulo, first introduced over 10 years ago, the new Soulo BL is Hilleberg’s first true Black Label solo tent. Fully freestanding, including an integrated vestibule, the Soulo BL is remarkably roomy and excels in any terrain and any weather condition.

“Our original Soulo is very strong,” says Petra Hilleberg, CEO of the Hilleberg Group and president of Hilleberg the Tentmaker. “For over a decade, it has been the solo tent of choice for demanding trips, from Greenland crossings to Himalayan climbing expeditions. The Soulo BL adds even greater strength, security, and margin of safety.”

Weighing 2.8 kg/6 lbs 3 oz, just 400 g/14 oz more than the Red Label Soulo, the new Soulo BL features the Kerlon 1800 outer tent fabric (which has an 18 kg/40 lb tear strength) and DAC NSL 10 mm poles found in all Hilleberg Black Label tents.
“We have long wanted a true Black Label one-person tent, and given both the performance and popularity of our Red Label Soulo, it seemed that a Black Label version would be the most elegant solution,” says Petra. “The new Soulo BL is our strongest solo tent.” Available in May of 2021, the Soulo BL has an MSRP of $825 USD.

Hilleberg Yellow Label tents are ideal choices for the snow-free months of the year, and the new Helags 2 and Helags 3 are no exception. Patterned after the Black Label Keron and Red Label Kaitum, they offer two vestibules, spacious interiors with vertical ends and near-vertical sidewalls, and generous inner tent height.

“The new Helags models are outstanding backpacking tents for the snow-free times of the year,” says Petra. “Both are roomy, airy, very light, and very comfortable.”
The Helags has curved, catenary patterning on the outer tent walls and large, all mesh inner tents doors for constant venting, and both outer tent doors can be rolled either partially or fully to the side for even more airflow. And, like all Yellow Label models, the Helags is built with Kerlon 1000 outer tent fabric – offering an 8 kg/17.5 lb tear strength – and DAC NSL 9 mm poles.

“The Helags – and all Yellow Label tents – are remarkably strong,” says Petra. “Their 9 mm poles are the same ones we use in the all-season Red Label series, and they provide excellent strength to weight ratio.”
The Helags 2 and 3 will be available in May of 2021 and have MSRPs of $985 and $1065 USD respectively.

We are big fans of Hilleberg here at Engearment.  Check out one of our favorite tents of theirs – the Allak 3.
