The Keen Howser Slide slippers $80 can take you outside to bring in more firewood or to the kitchen for more tea. The back of the shoe has a small lip to hold your heel in but they are still easy to slip on and off. I call these “The Sturdy Slipper”.

Lined with fleece and featuring an outer flannel, these are sure to keep your feet warm all winter long. These are the perfect “I deserve a present for myself” shoes. I actually wore these over to a party at my friend’s house and walked the mile home in them. I got made fun of a little for wearing slippers to a party, but I didn’t care because I knew my feet were more comfortable than theirs. 
They have a rubber non-marking sole with tread to maximize traction indoors but still give you some purchase outside. I tend to leave things in my car that I’ll need later (I’m not the only one… right?) so I’ve made dozens of trips from my car to my driveway in these.
Whats really nice, and something I never would have thought of is that the tread doesn’t have any big lugs. As obscure as it sounds, it’s ideal because I’m not tracking the pebbles from my driveway into the house (all my other shoes do this). Nothing gets jammed in the bottom of the shoes since the texture is minimalist (while still being 100% functional).

They have an eco-friendly anti-odor footbed which keeps it from getting stinky. What I hear is “you can go straight from your ski boots to your slippers”. It breaks down the odors in sweat without any hazardous materials, pretty neat eh? 
I wouldn’t go so far as to say they run big, but if you get your usual size you will have plenty of room for fluffy socks which is, of course, ideal.

Growing up snowboarding and hiking in the bitter cold winters and humid summers of northern Vermont, Eliza learned how to beat up gear and quickly became infatuated with new technologies. After moving to Colorado in 2015 to pursue a degree in recreation and outdoor education at Western Colorado University, her passion for the outdoors grew exponentially. Soon after, she picked up rock climbing, telemark skiing, backpacking, canyoneering, and is slowly learning to love rafting. Through these learning processes, Eliza began to understand the importance of the right gear and hopes to share her experiences and knowledge with others through Engearment.

Now working for Beacon Guidebooks as the ‘Wearer of Many Hats’ (yes, that is her official title), Eliza has learned the ins and outs of the outdoor industry. She has also worked on marketing teams, as a photographer, media coordinator, outdoor instructor and as a wrangler. She is especially excited to encourage other women in the outdoors and is an advocate for diversity and inclusion.
