Kuhl Klimitzer Shirt Review – Super Comfortable Casual Shirt

The Kuhl Klimitzer Shirt $70 is a super soft and comfortable shirt that is not as active fitting as the Kuhl Valiant or Cashmerino, yet is just as useful. It has a longer fit for casual use.

I have been using the three merino-based shirts from Kuhl for the last month.  Check out the reviews on the Kuhl Cashmerino and Kuhl Valiant for reference as well. They each feature a base of merino wool.  The Klimitzer is made of 45% merino wool, 45% Tencel, and 10% nylon.

This makes it the heaviest of the three shirts, though heavy is not really the correct word.  I feel that it is still lightweight and is somewhere around a 150 wt equivalent.  The Cashmerino is around 140 wt and the Valiant is the lightest at 130 wt.

The longer fit will appeal to a lot of you as it looks good, can be tucked in, and drapes nicely.  The other two shirts are more trim-fitting and shorter.  Not too short, by any means, but just a tad shorter. So, if you want a comfortable Kuhl shirt and a bit longer fit, the Klimitzer is for you.

Fit and Function

Each of the shirts I am testing are size XL. I used the Kuhl sizing chart to dial in what size shirt to get, and it steered me to XL.  For reference, I am 6’1″ 45″ chest 33″ waist.  The Klimitzer fits the least trim of the three, as you can see in the review videos.

I can appreciate the longer length and think this will appeal to many people.  Simply put, it can be more flattering on more people.  Plus, there is enough length to tuff the shirt in.

Materials

I like the mix of Merino wool, Tencel and nylon.  I think this is one of the most comfortable shirts I have tested.  I even slept in it on several nights.  Care for these shirts is really simple and the materials will last a LONG time. Simply wash in cold water and line dry.

The Klimitzer is a nice mix of great materials, soft feel, good drape and looks and a fair price.
