Prana Lavendar Bay Dress – A Nice, All Around Dress

The Prana Lavendar Bay dress is the casual/dress-up dress we all need this season.
Wear it solo to brunch, pair it with a jacket for work, or a light wrap for an evening date. Regardless of where or how you wear it, the Lavendar Bay dress just works.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to confidently wear a Prana dress that fits my body type (petite, middle-aged, slightly overweight), so I was delighted to try the Lavendar Bay dress. Finally, something I can wear that is stylish this season.

Thank you, Prana, for making a beautiful dress with practical features and “extras” that notch up the feminine details.
First of all, the practical elastic waist was the initial attractive point for me. It nipped in a little higher than expected but comfortably with the Tencel fabric draping beautifully from it.

The second practical detail that I really liked was the side pockets placed discreetly along the sides. Surprisingly spacious, they allowed for enough room to keep my hands warm and for keys, cards, or chapstick.
Finally, the “extra” details are what really make the dress: cap sleeves, Mandarin collar, and self-loop button detail. It’s feminine. It’s also casual yet sophisticated.

The front of the dress kind of reminds me of Katniss Everdeen’s reaping dress she wore for the first Hunger Games film. The back looks like an updated version of a Roman tunic shape. Regardless, it all comes together while being both fashionable and comfortable. The only drawback for me is that the dress is prone to wrinkling, and I have to steam the wrinkles out prior to each wear.
A nice, all-around dress for this season, the Lavendar Bay dress is available in three colors: Coal, Morning Glory, and Terra.
