Blumaka Max Cushion Insoles

Initial Impressions

The Blumaka NonSlip Performance Insoles are designed to improve everyday footwear comfort by adding cushioning, support, and stability without requiring a completely different shoe. I tested the Medium Arch Support Konnect Max Cushion insole in my hiking boots and the Medium Arch Support Max Cushion insole in my everyday work shoes. Both were installed easily without trimming, although some shoe shapes may require minor trimming for the best fit.

The first thing I noticed was the increase in cushioning compared to the stock insoles that came with the shoes. Both versions are lightweight and immediately made my footwear feel more comfortable without changing the overall fit. The Medium Arch Support Konnect Max Cushion insole stood out right away with its added cushioning and improved foot stability, while the other model provided an improved insole feel as well.

Design, Comfort & Fit

Both Blumaka insoles feature a stiffer, structured lower arch area that extends into the heel area and forms part of the molded heel cup. This design helps control foot movement inside the shoe while providing a good balance of support and flexibility. The waffle pattern across the rest of the base helps the insole interface with the inside of the shoe rather than feeling like a separate layer.

The Konnect model uses Blumaka’s Foamlock™ top cover, which features slightly raised bumps designed to help keep your foot more securely positioned inside the shoe. The regular model uses a softer top material that feels comfortable against the foot and works well for everyday footwear. While the Foamlock™ material adds another level of grip, both insoles performed very well at keeping my feet stable inside my shoes.

The top cover design is the main differentiator between the two models.

Fit was excellent in my shoes. Both insoles slid directly into place without trimming, though different shoe shapes and volumes may require adjustments. Blumaka does offer a lower-profile option for shoes with smaller foot volumes. No break-in period was required, and both felt comfortable immediately.

The medium arch provided noticeable support without feeling aggressive. For my next pair, I would try the high arch version to compare the additional support, as I personally prefer a little more arch support from an insole.

Performance

I tested each insole for approximately one month. The Konnect model was used exclusively in my hiking boots, while the regular model was used in my everyday shoes for garage work, yard work, and general household tasks.

The biggest improvement was overall foot comfort. My feet simply felt better after using these compared to the stock insoles that came with the shoes. The added cushioning was noticeable, especially during longer periods on my feet, but the feel is more of a supportive, sporty cushion rather than a soft, cloud-like experience. They provide additional padding without feeling overly squishy or unstable. I can’t really comment on the energy return from my testing, but the foam material does spring back quickly when compressed.

Foot stability was excellent with both insoles. Despite testing them with different types of socks, I experienced no noticeable foot movement inside my shoes or boots. The molded heel cup helped control movement, and during hikes my feet stayed securely positioned inside my boots while climbing uphill as well as descending steeper sections. The Foamlock™ top cover on the Konnect version added extra grip, but both insoles performed well in keeping my feet securely positioned.

The Konnect version became my preferred option because I enjoyed the additional grip and cushioning. I would use this version in any shoe where it fits properly because the added cushioning improves comfort without making the shoe feel bulky. The heel cushioning is an area where I always notice comfort improvements, and I would personally appreciate slightly more padding in that area.

Durability & Maintenance

After a month of use, both insoles have held up well. The top covers show no noticeable wear, and the insole materials have maintained their shape without signs of breakdown or compression. Some dirt accumulation is expected with normal use, especially in hiking boots, but cleaning is straightforward. Overall construction is solid, and the lightweight design makes them easy to move between compatible shoes if desired.

Closing Thoughts

The Blumaka Medium Arch Support Konnect Max Cushion insole and Medium Arch Support Max Cushion insole are a simple upgrade that can make a noticeable difference in everyday footwear comfort. Both models improved the feel of my shoes compared to the original insoles, providing better cushioning and a more comfortable platform for daily activities. The use of 85% recycled content in the foam construction and Blumaka’s reduced water manufacturing process are also nice additions that add value beyond just comfort and performance.

The Medium Arch Support Konnect Max Cushion insole was my favorite because I prefer the added cushioning and improved foot stability, especially for hiking and longer periods on my feet. It provides a noticeable comfort upgrade while still maintaining a supportive, athletic feel. The combination of the molded heel cup and supportive design kept my feet secure inside my boots without noticeable movement, while the Foamlock™ top cover added additional grip.  For anyone looking to improve the comfort of their existing shoes without replacing them, Blumaka offers several lightweight and effective options. The right model will depend on your footwear needs and personal preference, but adding a better insole is one of those small changes that can make a noticeable difference.
