Updated with new colors this season, the Cotopaxi Tempa Fleece Hooded Jacket is a multi-sport jacket that is perfect for cold fall days and winter pursuits.

Whether you’re out hiking, running, snowshoeing, skijoring, nordic skiing, walking the dog, or hanging out by the fire pit with friends, this hoody is the one that does it all.

 

The first thing that I noticed when I tried on the Cotopaxi Tempa Fleece Hooded Jacket is how instantly warm it is; like those quick-heat hand warmers but as a midweight fleece jacket.

The jacket provides heavy-duty warmth that I’d expect from bulkier, heavyweight sherpa fleece jackets (think Patagonia’s Retro-X Fleece), not from a midweight insulating fleece.

 

I get cold more easily than most, and I was thankful for the instant warmth. I normally don’t get that same level of warmth from similar midweight fleece jackets.

The second thing I noticed about the Cotopaxi Tempa Fleece Hooded Jacket are the two humongous front pockets that are lined with soft fleece.

 

Anyone who has read my reviews knows that I love pockets. The more functional, the better.

 

Cotopaxi comes through with zippered pockets that can easily accommodate my phone, wallet, and keys and keep them secure, but the best part by far? The super soft fleece lining! Oh my goodness, my hands were so cozy and warm, I didn’t want to remove them.

 

Both the main zippers and the hand pockets have pulls that will be convenient when winter arrives and my hands are gloved.

 

The Cotopaxi Tempa Fleece Hooded Jacket kept me warm on cold mornings walking the dogs when there was still frost on the ground. During those cold mornings and afternoons when the chilly mountain wind blew, I was glad for the hood. Lined with soft warm fleece, the hood is just as comfy and warm as the pockets.
