Fit and Function

First, a road map for each sock style and cuff height.  The socks are all generally the same, with similar construction in the foot and cuff.  The main difference is the cuff height.

  • Bolton: slightly higher than a no-show, hitting across the ankle
  • Farr: ankle height
  • Vert: mid-calf height

I got a size medium in the Farr and Vert and a size small in the Bolton.  My foot is a women’s size 8 (US). I was a little worried about the fit of the size small Bolton, but the fabric is super stretchy and I’ve found the smaller size to be perfectly comfortable.  The size medium Farr and Vert also fit well, with no bagginess.

There are two standout features with the new Gordini Women’s Running Socks:

  1. They are incredibly soft, feeling more like a luxurious every day sock
  2. They are VERY stretchy (in a good way)

The Gordini Women’s Running Socks are different from most of my other running socks.  The cushion is very minimal.  I generally prefer a little more cushion, but these socks have been feeling really great during my gear testing.  The other different thing is the amount of stretch – they are SUPER stretchy, both in the foot and the cuff.  These aren’t a compressive fit, but rather, the fabric moves very freely as your foot moves.  They feel really nice when you’re wearing them.

The Gordini Women’s Running Socks are sturdy, which was a nice surprise, given how soft and light the socks feel. I’ve been wearing the Vert socks on cycling (gravel and MTB rides) and the cuffs don’t seem to be bothered by the occasional pedal strike.

The BEST thing about the Gordini Women’s Running Socks is the value.  As of August 2026, the socks cost $22-24 FOR TWO PAIRS.  Performance socks suitable for running at $13 pair is unheard of.

The Gordini Women’s Running Socks are available in the 3 heights detailed above; each style is two colorways.

She is even known to combine her love of camping and cycling and go off on solo 24 hour overnight bikepacking trips in the mountains of Colorado. In addition to bikes, she teaches yoga, lifts weights, skis, SUPs and has recently purchased a campervan.

Erin is a former Montana park ranger with a degree in environmental engineering.  She loves getting into technical details while putting her gear (and herself) through the paces. She shares her home in Colorado with her husband, Will, and her 3 cats (Zipper, Brewtus, and Simcoe).
Fall and winter 2025 will bring Erin to the “Adventure Side”, with many camping, vanlife, bikepacking, and mountain bike rides. Once the snow flies, she can be find resort skiing, fat biking, and triathlon training (inside and outside).
In 2026 Erin took the National Championship in her Age Group for the USA Triathlon Cross Tri. She’s also racing the a National Championship Road Sprint and Olympic Distance race in Milwaukee and a few other off road triathlons and bike races.  In 2027, she will represent Team USA at the World Championship Cross Triathlon in Edmonton, Canada. She’ll also save lots of room for adventure time with her friends and husband.
When not adventuring, she can be found on a sunny patio somewhere, drinking beers with her husband.
