Stio Skycrest Insulated Snap Shirt
Review by Kate Agathon
The Stio Skycrest Insulated Snap Shirt strikes just the right vibe of outdoorsy and elevated mountain chic.
This is my must-have shoulder season clothing item when I travel because of its design, construction, and packability.
I most recently wore it on a trip that my husband and I took to Colorado’s western slope. We spent the mornings nordic skiing at Grand Mesa and the afternoons visiting wineries in Palisade and Grand Junction.

Because it looked “nicer” than my normal down hoody, it seemed more appropriate for wine tours and evenings out on the town without looking overdressed.
Fit and Style
Based on online reviews, I wore a size XS instead of my usual size S. I was able to wear a long sleeve shirt underneath with no problem.
Most slim cut jackets or tops do not look good on my middle-aged muffin top midsection. Thankfully, the Stio Skycrest Insulated Snap Shirt with traditional shirttail hem is the rare exception.
Even buttoned up, the flattering snap shirt did not feel tight across the chest or the arms. It also presented a somewhat slimming illusion.
I have always wanted to wear a shacket, but the style has always appeared too boxy for me. Therefore, I was very pleased with the slim lines of the Stio Skycrest Insulated Snap Shirt.
This is perhaps the most minimalist-looking offering Stio has.
The snap closures were a nice change from the usual buttons or zippers (there’s something oddly satisfying about ripping open a jacket). The structured self collar looked equally nice popped up as it did unbuttoned, and I liked the subtle diamond quilted design.

Other nice style touches were the custom Stio® metal snaps at front closure, hand and chest pockets and embroidered pinecone logo along the back yoke.

Overall Thoughts
The Thermore® Ecodown® (synthetic insulation with the soft touch properties of down) is so much comfier and warmer than wearing the usual jean or canvas army jackets; especially during shoulder season when a little bit of extra warmth is needed.
I expect this shacket to get a lot of mileage during shoulder season. It will be perfect for taking to Arizona and wearing it around the towns of Prescott and Sedona after a day spent mountain biking.

Stio hit it out of the ball park with the Stio Skycrest Insulated Snap Shirt. Dress it up with a collared shirt underneath or s scarf, or dress it down with a crewneck tee. Snap it up or wear it unsnapped- any of these options are great. This truly unique shacket personifies mountain chic.
Want to level up your casual game? The Stio Skycrest Insulated Snap Shirt is available in six colors (Sage Flats, Mustang, Mountain Shadow, Triple Berry, Raven, the whimsical Mountain Goat Marion Ditsy) and seven sizes (XXS to XXL).
