Detailed Review
The Stio Women’s Bounder Pullover is a flexible option for shoulder season activities.
The fit of the Stio Women’s Bounder Pullover is boxy and slightly cropped. I am a women’ size medium on the Stio website and I thought that the medium in the Pullover fit me well. The arms have plenty of room to move and the upper fits a bit like a jacket, with it’s boxy shape. The bottom hem is where the magic happens. There’s an elastic shock cord that you can cinch or expand, allowing the wearer to customize the fit.

The fabric of the Stio Women’s Bounder Pullover is on the lighter side. I’ve found that when worn as a shirt, it is slightly see-through if I have a darker or vividly patterns sports bra on beneath it. If this is something that bothers you, consider getting the Mountain Shadow (navy) version of the pullover.
I’ve been wearing the Stio Women’s Bounder Pullover as both a windbreaker jacket layer and as a stand alone top layer while running. It also does double duty as a casual top for wearing around town.
For me, the Stio Women’s Bounder Pullover has been a fantastic windbreaker layer this spring. The fabric is slightly heavier than most of my sunshirts and the weave and construction provide really nice wind protection. The half-zip and the stand up collar, combined with the cinchable hem allowed me to modulate how much protection I wanted (cold = fully zipped + cinched down, getting a bit warm = unzipped and uncinched).

The elastic arm cuffs are also in the “just” right area for fit and elasticity. The sleeves hit me at the knuckles at full length, but easily stay pulled back (behind my Garmin watch) without feeling too tight or too loose. Because of the sleeve length, I do wish there were thumbholes, but this isn’t a deal breaker either.

The stand-up collar is really well designed and positioned. Most pullover shirts annoy me when I’m running, with the neckline whacking me in the face (when not fully zipped) or the zipper hitting me awkwardly in the neck or chin. The collar of the Stio Women’s Bounder Pullover, when zipped is loose enough to avoid any irritating contact, and has enough structure to stay out of your face when it’s unzipped.
The center kangaroo pocket is VERY generously sized. I also appreciate the zippers placed on each side of the pocket, which prevents things from falling out when moving around or when taking the pullover off. The downside to the large pocket is that smaller items, like a car key or sports nutrition, have a tendency to bounce around unchecked. I wish there was a small bonus inner pocket to help contain smaller items within the larger pocket.

A nice bonus feature is that the Stio Women’s Bounder Pullover packs down into a sleeve pocket located inside the center kangaroo pocket. This makes stowing the pullover a no brainer, coming in at less than 5 ounces and packing down into the size of your hand.

My favorite feature of the Stio Women’s Bounder Pullover is the INSANELY bright Bold Bloom colorway. It is BRIGHT. I almost always gravitate to brightly colored items, especially for jackets, for safety reasons. This is a really fun color that stands out.
Closing Thoughts
The Stio Women’s Bounder Pullover is a do-it-all layer for cooler months, offering a lightweight and packable water-repellant layer that’s great for hiking, running, and hanging out.
The Stio Women’s Bounder Pullover is available only for women in sizes ranging from XS to XL and in three colorways (Talus, Bold Bloom, and Mountain Shadow).
