Bajio is a Spanish word for the shallows, the part of the ocean between land and sea. This is a sweet spot for sea life. While we don’t have an ocean close to us here in Colorado, we do have a lot of creeks, lakes, and even snow. My favorite kind of water 🙂

I was impressed with the packaging and leather case for the Bajio shades. They put a lot of attention into detail and it shows. Packaging and cases aside, the shades really blew me away. We test a lot, and I mean a lot!, of shades over here at Engearment. Just look through the posts and the Engearment YouTube channel to gain context for this. So, I feel like we can honestly say when we are impressed with a good pair of sunglasses.

In this case, we are very impressed! Right away, the quality is obvious. These have polarized glass lenses that are as sharp as any we have tested before. The Bajio Calda has a classic look to them, with rubberized nose and earpieces for keeping in place. The optics are fantastic. Like, hold on a second, these are too good, fantastic.

Bajio LAPIS – Blue light blocking
I am a fan of sunglasses that block blue light. Why would you want to block any light? Many studies show that certain parts of blue light can be disruptive to circadian rhythm, increase cortisol, and other negative side effects. I have tested out other shades with similar blue blocking technology and love them. I wish other sunglass companies offered this option as well.
Bottom line – The Bajio Calda are high-end sunglasses for people who appreciate water and the great outdoors. The price reflects the quality and we would put these head to head with any other high end sunglasses out there.
