Osprey Kyte 46 Womens Backpack – Fantastic and Useful Backpack

Osprey Kyte 46 Women’s Backpack – Fantastic and Useful Backpack
Osprey Kyte 46 (MSRP $180)
The women-specific Osprey Kyte 46 is my go-to bag all year long for hut trips and backcountry camping. At 5’0”, it has been difficult finding a pack that I can take for multi-day trips (someone gifted me with an Osprey Ariel 65 when I was in graduate school, and it was just… so much).

An internal frame pack, the Kyte 46 was used for a 3-day camping trip, and a couple of 2-day hut and yurt trips. It carried dehydrated food, an MSR pocket rocket, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, clothes for 4 days (layers included) and a pair of Chacos.
I appreciated the top-loading access (the main compartment could accommodate a surprisingly large amount) and the side zipper to access the main compartment with ease. Other favorite features were the full-length zippered side pocket, zippered hip belts, stretch mesh pocket and multiple daisy chains along the front panel to hang items from.
Other features: adjustable harness, external hydration sleeve, integrated rain cover, trekking pole attachment, ice-tool loop, and bungee tie-offs.
