Bontrager’s answer to TIEM’s sneaker-like Slipstream, the Cadence is thoughtfully designed with a mesh body to maximize breathability (feet get hot when you’re cycling in a confined space), comfy neoprene tongue, and a cushioned EVA foam midsole for comfort on and off the bike.

Designed so that the cleats are recessed into the tread (no more marked up floors!) the Cadence is intended as a fitness shoe to wear on and off the bike. The sturdy outsole provides good traction and allows for great walkability pre and post-workout. If you want to stretch and do some other exercises while wearing the Cadence, that’s fine too.
The bottoms of the Cadence have two bolts drilled into the bottom to accommodate Shimano SPD compatible cleats and pedals (both sold separately). Having clip-in pedals is essential to indoor cycling: they create a platform to connect to the bike, enable a higher cadence, and improve pedal stroke.

Because I have recently increased my indoor trainer workouts, I wanted a shoe that was breathable and versatile (I wanted the convenience of wearing one pair of shoes for indoor cycling and workouts).
I had been using my normal cycling shoes for years, and wanted to try something different that left my feet considerably less sweaty.
I typically have a difficult time finding shoes in my size (I wear a size 5), but the Cadence fit true to size. Having the BOA system for micro-adjustments made a tremendous difference as well.

Overall, I like the Cadence because it met all of my requirements in an indoor cycling shoe, was comfortable during Zwift sessions, and the BOA closure was the gravy on top. I wish all performance footwear I own had the BOA system.
The Cadence is available in 3 colors: black, teal green, and gray.
