Fjallraven Vidda Pro Trousers – Swedish For Adventure Pants
Looking for a pair of pants to tackle your next mountain adventure? The Fjallraven Vidda Pro might be your pants.
Made of burly G-1000 fabric and featuring more pockets than you can count on one hand. These are serious pants and made to take some abuse.
The G-1000 Original is Fjallravens go-to fabric
It is a mix of 65% polyester and 35% cotton, creating a think and resilient fabric. These are not lightweight soft-shell hiking pants. These are tough as heck pants made for chopping wood and chasing Bigfoot. There are 6 pockets, all of them on the front (sorry, no rear wallet pocket for you city boy!) Well, I do carry a wallet and found at least 3 pockets that it fits in well. So we have that out of the way.
Pockets, pockets and some more pockets
Pockets include left and right-hand pockets, map pocket, knife pocket, and a couple other ones. I found the right side cargo pocket was perfect for holding my iPhone 8+. It was actually a pocket, within a pocket. So there was still room to carry more stuff. Like a ferret or pair of gloves. Have I mentioned there are a lot of pockets yet?
Design and fit
The pants are very well made. There is a hidden clasp at the bottom front of the pants to affix to boot laces. There is reinforcement in the knees. The knees are also pre-shaped so squatting down on the ground is easier. The fit is spot on. I tested a 50, which translates to 33-34” waist.
The Vidda Pro Trousers are great cabin pants, hiking pants in the cold or just looking like someone who could take on Chuck Norris. Tough pants for the tough stuff. Note – do not attempt to fight Chuck Norris.
