Here in Summit County, shoulder season weather is unpredictable at best.

One day, we might get pounded by snow, two days later it will be cold and dry. It’s also not unusual to experience multiple changes in weather in a single day. Wearing a zippered layer during this time of year just makes sense because the zipper makes it easier to put on or remove when necessary.

During shoulder season, the midweight Dale of Norway 140th Anniversary Women’s Wool Jacket is the layer that I reach for when I need to level up my style.

Look and Fit

Quality is timeless.

Like all Dale of Norway knitwear, the 140th Anniversary Women’s Wool Jacket is an instant classic, thanks to its overall design and construction.

Made of premium virgin wool, the jacket’s exquisite design is a homage to Norway’s iconic eight-pointed selburose.

Despite the slim fit design, I was able to wear the size small. I was elated that it did not appear too tight and it certainly didn’t feel constrictive.

When it comes to fashion, I appreciate that Dale of Norway has the long game in mind when they stay true to classic cuts that can be worn for a lifetime. Up here in the mountain community where I live, Dale of Norway is revered as a fashion staple because it appeals to ski culture.

The 140th Anniversary Women’s Wool Jacket is one of the less visually complex Dale of Norway offerings. I appreciated that the contrasting grey and white color trim popped along the black jacket without being overwhelmingly busy.

Overall Thoughts

Not too heavy and not too light, the Dale of Norway Anniversary Jacket is the perfect weight for Shoulder Season’s unpredictable weather and fluctuating temperatures.

Thanks to the expertly spun fin yarn, the soft wool was not itchy and thermoregulation was achieved by all-natural fibers.

Compared to my other Dale of Norway, it appears somewhat dressier and less casual than others in my collection.

Interestingly, Dale of Norway was founded in 1879, so its 140th anniversary was actually seven years ago. Perhaps this design was created 7 years ago and has remained a staple in the collection ever since.
