YETI Yonder Shaker Bottle

This spring, YETI expanded its drinkware line with the inclusion of the YETI Yonder Shaker Bottle.

Featuring YETI’s whisk-free Helimix® Technology, YETI Yonder Shaker Bottles are specifically designed for blending protein powder drink mixes on the go.

I tried the 20 oz size, because I wanted to compare it to my current 24 oz Blender Bottle that I’ve used for years.

The most noticeable part of the YETI Yonder Shaker Bottle is that it lacks a mixing ball to whisk the powder. Would my protein shake be clump-free? I wondered.

The second noticeable feature is the bottle’s design.

Unlike traditional smooth-walled shaker bottles, the YETI Yonder Shaker Bottle offers what can best be described as a geometric design.

I found that the shape made it easier for my small hands to grasp. However, my husband found the ridges uncomfortable in his larger hands and preferred the traditional smooth, rounded walls of the Blender Bottle.

What we both agreed upon is the design of the cap of the YETI Yonder Shaker Bottle. The locking lid was easy to open (just use two thumbs to flip up the cap) and it does not open abruptly, unlike other brands.

Overall Thoughts

Self-described as “over-engineered”, the YETI Yonder Shaker Bottle has an attractive, modern design.

I appreciated its practical features: geometric design for easier shaking/carrying, easy flip lid, and ease of cleaning (no dirty whisk balls to keep track of).

Also, the bottle fits easily into the cup holders of our Subaru.

Even with the thick Skratch recovery chocolate shake mix, the YETI Yonder Shaker Bottle produced a clean (read: not clumpy) shake.

Beyond recovery shakes, the YETI Yonder Shaker Bottle would be ideal for pancake mixes and scrambled eggs if you’re camping or doing van life.

Overall I am delighted with the YETI Yonder Shaker Bottle and its whisk-free Helimix® Technology. It’s the next evolution of shaker bottles.
