The Janji Women’s Pinnacle R.D. Ultra Bra is a sports bra that’s light in fabric and feel but heavy in functionality.

Detailed Review

As a triathlete and a runner, I’m always on the lookout for sports bras that aren’t restrictive feeling and have pockets.  Pockets in the front for ice are surprisingly hard to come by and I was super excited to learn that the Janji Women’s Pinnacle R.D. Ultra Bra offers that very thing.

I’m a size medium on the Janjii size guide (and size medium for their shorts).  I initially got a size medium in the Women’s Pinnacle R.D. Ultra Bra and found that it felt way too tight along the rib cage.  I have a very large rib cage for a woman, and I’ve found that crop style sports bras usually have fit issues because my ribs don’t taper towards my waist like most fit model’s ribs do.  I ended up exchanging the medium for a large.  The exchange process was very simple: fill out an on line form, mail back via pre-paid label, once received, Janjii will send the new size to you.  The size large fits well across the bottom of the sports bra but, as is typical for me, is a little big across the neck and shoulders.  It’s not loose enough where it impacts function (thankfully I do not need a lot of support), and maybe with the high neckline, a little looseness might be a good thing.

I’ve been wearing the Janji Women’s Pinnacle R.D. Ultra Bra under t-shirts and tank tops and always with a running pack.  Runs varied between trail and road and were generally 1-2 hours in duration.

Overall, I really enjoyed running in the Janji Women’s Pinnacle R.D. Ultra Bra. The fabric is nice and light, never feeling heavy or restricting. Thanks to the seam free lining, I also never chafed, which is a big win. The sports bra felt very comfortable as a whole and along every seam and contact point.

The three-pocket system built into the Janji Women’s Pinnacle R.D. Ultra Bra is fantastic.  It’s the feature that I feel makes this sports bra stand apart from the rest. The front pocket is sized so you can fit snacks or a phone down with minimal bouncing.  The opening is also plenty big where you can put a fist-full of ice down the pocket during a race.  The back drop in pocket is part of the racerback, between the shoulders, part of the sports bra. This pocket is also sized for larger items (phones, snacks, or even a 500 ml soft flask!).  The back pass through pocket goes along the lower portion of the sports bra, across the back.  I attempted to cram an ultra lightweight t-shirt across that pocket, but with my limited shoulder mobility, this was pretty challenging by myself.  I imagine it would be infinitely easier with a buddy.

The magic to the Janji Women’s Pinnacle R.D. Ultra Bra is that it gives women options.  Don’t want to carry a hand-held bottle or wear a hydration pack?  No problem!  Want to wear a shirt and pack?  This bra is light enough and chafe-free where you won’t feel overwhelmed. Get hot during your run and want to ditch your shirt?  The sports bra has a built in storage spot for you to stash your shirt!

Finally: I’m glad that Janjii opted to go padding free, skipping built in padding or those annoying removable pads that never stay put.  Thank you!

Closing Thoughts

The Janji Women’s Pinnacle R.D. Ultra Bra is a well designed and fun looking sports bra, that offers a ton of options for women runners or hikers.  The sports bra is available in four colorways in an sizes ranging from XXS to XXXL.
