Kuhl Trekr Straight Pant

As a middle aged person who is all about the pursuit of comfort, I go out of my way to find pull-on pants.

This season, the super stretchy Kuhl Trekr Straight Pant fits the bill.

The pants feature just enough practical features (pull-on waistband, external drawcord to customize fit, bottom-hem bungee, UPF 50+ fabric) to set them apart from others.

Look and Fit

I found the high rise, straight fit pants flattering.

Despite the knit waistband, the Kuhl Trekr Straight Pant didn’t give off athleisure vibes, which I appreciated. I wanted to be comfortable, but not look overly casual.

What I liked most about the Kuhl Treker Straight Pant was its remarkable fit.

Rarely do I find a pair of pants that don’t require a trip to the local seamstress to get the bottoms hemmed. Thankfully, Kuhl offers four inseams (extra short, short, regular, and long), to ensure I can get as close to a customized fit as possible.

I am 5’0” tall. Initially, I tried the short inseam out of habit. To my surprise, the 30” inseam was too long. Next, I tried the extra short inseam, and the 28” hem was perfect. I was thrilled!

Overall Thoughts

The Kuhl Trekr Straight Pant performed admirably and were as comfortable as I had hoped (and even stretchier than expected). Not once did the waistband chafe or restrict my movement.

I wore them everywhere: doing errands around town, walking the dogs, at home relaxing on our deck, and on vacation. Super versatile!

Finally, the performance-blend Trekr fabric is rated UPF 50+, the highest rating possible. I live in the mountains and often recreate in the high desert so the additional protection from harmful UV rays was welcome.

In terms of fit and comfort, these are the best pants I’ve found yet. They required absolutely no hemming; which is a first.

How nice that Kuhl’s extended sizes are available for the rest of us. More companies should offer ES!
