Detailed Review
I have been testing the Rab Talus Running Tights over the past several months in the following activities:
- Gym sessions (weights + plyometrics)
- Hot yoga
- Medium distance runs in cooler weather (40-50 degrees)
In Rab, I fit between a small and a medium, depending on the item. For the Rab Talus Running Tights, I opted for the smaller sizing, as smaller tights are usually better for me (less movement and more compression). The size small is perfect for me, so don’t be afraid to size down.
The waistband on the Rab Talus Running Tights is fantastic. It is definitely a high waisted fit; when fully pulled up it can hit the bottom of my ribs. When the tights settle into place, they hit a few inches above my navel. The waistband doesn’t budge: no rolling, no sinking down. It’s great. And it’s also SUPER flattering if you want to wear a crop top or just a sports bra.

The Flexile™ 200 fabric moves while providing a nice level of support and compression. I can do any movement I want while wearing the Rab Talus Running Tights: squats, pigeon pose, lunges. These tights can definitely take you from your run into the yoga studio.
It did take me a while to figure out the fit of the tights to prevent movement as I ran. Most tights tend to move around in the waist or crotch area as you run, due to gravity or movement. The Rab Talus Running Tights were no different….. I did finally figure out that I needed to yank the bottoms of the tights up. I’m pretty sure my calves are a bit more “athletic” than most, and my calves ended up anchoring the tights downward. Once I yanked the fabric up in my calf area, I was able to get a better fit in the upper quad/hip area, which eliminated any further movement.
I have the tights in the Tempest Blue colorway. This color doesn’t sweat through. After a medium trail run, I only had a little sweat along the back of the waistband. There were no embarrassing sweat marks, even with a lighter color.
Denver hasn’t quite gotten the memo that it’s fall, as our temperatures are still unseasonably warm. I have managed to get in several cooler walks and a few cooler runs (40-50 degrees) and I felt that this temperature range was just perfect for the Rab Talus Running Tights. I would guess that I could be comfortable in temps as low as 35, depending on how hard I was working.

The storage in the Rab Talus Running Tights is my second favorite feature. There’s a large, compressive pocket on the side of each leg, big enough to fit a phone or several chew/gels. There’s a small zippered pocket at the waist to keep your keys or ID safe. And there’s a larger mesh pocket at the back waist that fits larger items, like an inhaler or more gels/chews. During my testing, I was really happy to see that I experienced little to no bouncing in the pockets, even with several gels and an inhaler.
Closing Thoughts
The Rab Talus Running Tights are really comfortable running tights that perform well in a variety of situations. They are comfortable, flexible, AND supportive, which is the sweet spot in active tights. They also look really flattering, due to a well designed waistline and seams that hit in the right spots.
The Rab Talus Running Tights are available for both men and women. In the US, the tights are in sizes ranging from XS-XL (women) and S-XXL (men) and in two colorways.
