Toad & Co Sunkissed Maxi Dress
Review by Kate Agathon
The dog days of summer are no match for Toad & Co’s Sunkissed Maxi Dress.
One of my favorite late summer dresses, the maxi dress brings a pop of color and fun prints.
This dress is designed for travel – it crushes down and takes up minimal space in my duffle bag.
Colorful and flowy, the dress screams fun: wear it to a beach wedding, a happy hour date, to the farmer’s market, winery, or patio brunches with the ladies.

A versatile dress that is ideal for travel, it works in every setting imaginable- mountains, beach, city, desert.
Constructed from 88 percent recycled polyester and 12 percent spandex, the lightweight and stylish Sunkissed Maxi Dress is appropriate for all body types.
The water-friendly garment has a UPF 50+ rating and is designed for fun in the sun. Practical features include on-seam hand pockets and a hidden secure zipper pocket.
While shopping for a dress to wear on our honeymoon to Vancouver Island, the Sunkissed Maxi Dress immediately jumped out at me due to its low keyhole cutout back and wrap hemline. Its packable and quick dry properties add to its allure.

Those subtle feminine design details showed off just the right amount of skin without making me feel self conscious about my middle-aged body. Too often, I have been interested in summer dresses but discovered that the cut outs are not flattering to someone who doesn’t wear a size 2.
Another feature I really liked about the dress was the jewel neckline- was neither too high nor too low and could serve as a nice backdrop for a simple necklace.

I was delighted that the straps were the ideal width to hide bra straps and the armholes were not overly spacious.
I don’t often wear dresses with these types of armholes because too often they are either too long or cut into the bustline, creating a super unflattering look. Thankfully, Toad & Co somehow managed to create a dress with all the right specs – bodice, skirt, and all.

Toad & Co Sunkissed Maxi DressAdditionally, the offers a bit of on-the-go versatility: pair it with a bolero shrug for a dressed up look, or wear a crewneck sweat shirt over it for a casual look.
Because it was not available in a petite size, I had to get the dress hemmed. I am 5’0” and the maxi dress has a 47” center front length and 56.6” center back length.
Although I only got to wear it in Vancouver Island once because it was rainy and cool, I’ve had plenty of opportunities to wear it back home in sunny Colorado.
A warm weather staple, the comfortable non-wrinkle dress is available in six patterns and five sizes.
