Lowa Innox Pro GTX Mid Boot Review
Lowa has been making high-quality boots for a long time. When the Innox Pro GTX came in for testing, the first day I was wearing them, at least half of my colleagues had positive stories regarding their use of Lowa boots. That was reassuring to hear!
This the first time I have used any footwear from Lowa, so I was not sure what to expect. The boots look awesome and the traction looked like it could climb a wall. So, I strapped them on and went on a long dog walk in the snow and mud. The first thing I noticed was a more “tactile” feel. What I mean is, I perceived that I was able to feel more of the ground beneath my feet.
I had not felt this kind of sensation in the other boots we have been testing (you can see the list of the most recent boots on our website and YouTube channel). Now, it is not a bad sensation at all. It had been a while since I had experienced this. And it is actually kind of nice.
Even though I was able to feel a bit more connected to the ground, I did not feel any lower to the surface, nor did I feel like anything (rocks, tree branches, etc.) was going to poke through the sole. I credit the Double Injection DynaPU midsole for the ability to provide slight cushion and good protection.
The Multi Trac II outsole is grippy on all the surfaces I tested. Snow, mud, dirt, loose rocks, were all good underfoot. The tread not only looks good, but it also grips well.
Good looks to boot!
These hiking boots look really nice too. I get a lot of people stopping me to ask who makes these. I appreciate the bright colors and sneaker style look of these. They are not overly technical looking and certainly not old-school heavy hiker boots or the past.
The Lowa Innox Pro GTX Mid Boot is a premium boot and the price is fair for what you are getting. MSRP $235 is a good investment for such a well-made boot. The design is great and the build quality seems legit. Add in that all the people I talked to that owned or still own Lowa boots and their positive testimony, and you have a worthy boot!
Now, this blew my mind. These boots are actually 100% vegan. This is not a leather boot, it is a synthetic material. Add in the Gore-Tex lining and you have a really great, vegan, waterproof, high-end boot!
