Decathlon Wed'ze Skimo 20 Ski Touring Backpack

Will getting after it with the Decathlon Wed’ze pack

What a great little ski touring pack! Decathlon has crammed tons of features into a budget-friendly pack. Whether touring in the local uphill race at your favorite resort or backcountry ski mountaineering lines the Decathlon Wed’ze is a very capable pack.

Decathlon has loaded the Wed’ze pack with pretty much everything you can think of. Let’s start with ski carry, this pack is able to carry a set of alpine touring skis diagonally in traditional ski mo fashion. You can remove your skis and attack them to the pack without removing the pack! I’m currently on a split board and with one ski strap, it’ll carry a split with ease. I didn’t notice any unnecessary movement while climbing steep couloirs and rock scrambling.

Another great feature of this pack is the waterproof padded crampon pocket, you can easily deploy your crampons and store them without removing the pack.

This pack also offers is a hydration flask pocket on the shoulder strap along with internal bladder storage as well. We all know staying hydrated in the mountains is key.

More features of this pack include front and rear entry, separate shovel blade pocket. Retainers for shovel handle and probe internally and ample room for skins, layers, snacks, and first aid kit! The pack is also fitted with recco which is becoming an industry standard in snow sports gear. (Any extra piece of mind in a slide makes me happy!)

I have used this pack over 20 days in the backcountry and it has become my go-to for light and fast missions. The only think I would add is maybe two compression straps for rope carry! It skis very well and easy to forget you’re wearing a pack. I hope this review is helpful! See Y’all in the hills!
