Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer Pants – New for Fall 19

Take 800 RDS down, enclose it in 10D nylon and stuff it in a sub 10oz pant and you have the new Ghost Whisperer Pant from Mountain Hardwear.

Updated for Fall 2019

Mountain Hardwear made some updates to the Ghost Whisperer pants this time around.  From beefing up the body materials – from 7D x 10D – to the new 10D x 10D Whisperer ripstop nylon.  I am not sure I can feel the difference, but pants sure do feel ultralight, yet strong.

Ultralight

The size large that I have been testing came in at 10 oz WITH stuff sack. The pants were able to compress down even further and become almost lost in my backpack.

Versatile

I was sent these demo pants to try out at the begging of February 2019.  I immediately went winter camping and put them to use.  From post splitboard brews as the sun went down, to full-on winter camping, these pants saw a lot of use.

I used them to push the temp rating on some of the sleeping bags we were testing throughout the late winter, early spring here in Colorado.  These pants became part of the essentials kit in my pack.

Once my wife found them, I had to bribe her to give them back.  They are just so comfy and warm.  They play nicely with other pants and boots too.  The bottom has a nice zipper that lets you get these pants over boots.  Ample hand pockets provide a safe place to keep your phone warm.

Just get them!

If you spend any time in the winter, being stationary or camping, then insulated pants should be on your list.  If you are looking for some of the lightest, yet most functional pair out there, I would highly recommend grabbing a pair of the Mountain Hardwear Ghost Whisperer pants.  They are not out yet, but when they are, MSRP should be around $250.
