Vanguard VEO 3 Go 204CB Tripod – Awesome Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod
Looking for a compact and dependable travel tripod? Then check out this Vanguard VEO 3 Go 204CB Tripod. Made of carbon fiber and packs up small for travel.
As a content creator, and as a dirtbag, I am always looking for ways to streamline my workflow and do so in crazy weather. Â I have used, and broken, many tripods over the years. Â I have a collection of little bendy tripods, cheap plastic tripods and nice metal tripods.
I had been using the K&F Concept 62″ tripod ($80) for almost all the mobile video shoots.  It lives in my 4Runner and still gets used to this day.  But, it is a bit large to keep in my day bag.  Which is a bummer, as I could really use a tripod for shooting fitness videos on the go.
So, I have been in the market for something a little more compact, yet just as capable of handling my Panasonic G9 and lenses. The G9 is not a light camera, is made of magnesium, and having a rather large (and nice) Leica lens. It was no match for the smaller tripods I kept trying to use.
I stumbled upod the Vanguard line of travel tripods, and there are a lot! After doing a little (ok, a lot!) of research, I went with the Vanguard VEO 3 Go 204CB Tripod ($159) It is twice the price of the K&F tripod, but it sees more than twice the use now!
Finally, I can keep a legit tripod in my day bag and create great content anytime and anywhere. Â It comes with me to our gym, I shoot fitness videos and fitness classes with it. Â Then, it goes with me and the dogs to the mountains to shoot gear review videos.
Heck, it even goes with me to family functions to shoot videos and pics of our nieces. Â The bottom line, it gets a lot of use and was a solid investment.
There are a few other perks, like a free smartphone holder, and Bluetooth remote control. Â Those features are great for anyone looking to up their content creation using their phone. To be honest, I think most people can create awesome content with just their smartphone, a tripod and a decent microphone.
I use the Rode Wireless Go for almost all my videos (as do most other YouTube creators) but you can go with a $20 lavalier mic and do almost as good, if not better.
Vanguard VEO 3 Go 204CB Tripod Review
I am a big fan of this tripod.  It packs up small – 13.6″ and fits in the water bottle pocket of my backpack.  That is awesome.  It can extend to 51″, which is enough for what I need it to do.  The K&F extends a bit more, but I wind up leaving it at home more.  This is a very good investment for anyone looking to shoot a lot of videos, on the go.
