Patagonia All Seasons Hemp Canvas Bib – Stronger than Cotton
Eliza Lockhart
Did you know that hemp fabrics are stronger than cotton? That means that Patagonia All Seasons Hemp Canvas Bib $99 Overalls beat its competitors every day of the week when it comes to durability. And for that matter, Patagonia’s entire Workwear Hemp Canvas line is top-notch when it comes to evading holes and tears.

Built for women who work, these overalls aren’t messing around. Boasting a hefty 9.6 oz hemp canvas, the All Seasons Bib Overalls are here to stay. No, really, this essential wardrobe item isn’t going anywhere thanks to its long-lasting construction. Whether you are a gardener, farmer, construction worker, or a ski bum who gets after it, these are going to be a best friend.
The canvas is soft right out of the box and only gets better with each wear. Not much of a break-in period, especially compared to the competitor’s duck canvas which requires a few washes to not feel like cardboard.

They’re loose but not baggy and are tailored to a woman’s body. I’m 5’ 9”, 130 lbs, and I got an XS. They’re a touch short in the torso but fit my width really well. I think I would’ve been ok with an S but I still like the way the XS fits.
There are two buttons on each side of your hip to get them on and keep them on. These make it easy to slide in and out but keeps the waist of the overalls above your hips once the buttons are buttoned. There are two buttons on each of the shoulder straps that allow you to adjust the length of the torso.

Patagonia All Seasons Hemp Canvas Bib Review
I commend Patagonia for recognizing that not all women’s torsos are the same length, but I wish there was a little more adjustability here. In addition, a few women complained that the leg length was too long. I have pretty long legs so I was pleased, but if you are of shorter stature this is something worth considering.

One thing that Patagonia really nailed is POCKETS!! There are two deep pockets for your hands, two back pockets, and two pockets on the right side of your thigh. I love these side pockets more than any other feature on these overalls. They are perfect for a pair of pliers, your phone, or any small item you want to keep handy. I think side pockets are super underrated so I’m thrilled that Patagonia added these in. In addition (!!), there is a chest pocket which contains a pencil sleeve. My only criticism on the pockets: I wish the chest pocket had a zipper. Every time I bend over, whatever is in there slides out. Otherwise, I love these deep pockets.

I have gotten handfuls of compliments on these and am very pleased with how they perform and fit. They are incredibly durable thanks to the cleverly crafted hemp canvas which is Fair Trade Certified™ sewn. And just to sweeten the deal a little more, the knees are reinforced with another layer of fabric. There is even an opening at the bottom to slide knee pads in and out as well.
Bottom Line: For $99 you’re getting a pair of overalls that will last you a long time. I can attest to the durability of the Hemp Canvas and I think you will be as pleased as I am. Whether you’re going camping and sitting around a fire or working in the dirt, these are comfy overalls to do it in.
