The Women’s Desert Pucker Short Sleeved Shirt is Royal Robbin’s feminine version on their best selling men’s shirt.  The women’s version has been slightly restyled to be on trend, with a short boxy silhouette.

Detailed Review

I was looking for a warm weather wardrobe refresh.  I’ve got some fun trips planned for this summer and we regularly go on weekend van camping trips, where we ride bikes and then head into town for beers. I also have an office job that trends very business casual.  The Royal Robbins Women’s Desert Pucker Short Sleeved Shirt ticked all the boxes in terms of style and variety of uses.

I got the Royal Robbins Women’s Desert Pucker Short Sleeved Shirt in the Rosefinch colorway.  It’s a vibrant coral color that really pops and goes with a wide variety of pants or shorts. This shirt is cropped, which is very much on trend, but it’s a moderate crop that extends below the waistband of most pants.

I found the shirt to fit true to size, even with the boxy fit. It’s loose but not too loose.

The fabric of the Royal Robbins Women’s Desert Pucker Short Sleeved Shirt has a slight seersucker texture to it, while also having a really smooth and soft, almost brushed finish. The fabric is on the stiffer side (compared to the Royal Robbins Spotless Evolution Meadow short sleeve shirt), but with the boxy cut, the shirt allows a full range of motion and comfort.  I was hoping that this shirt would be more of a “wash and wear” item.  I refuse to use an iron.  We’ve been washing this shirt on delicate and air drying it; with air drying I notice that there are more wrinkles than I’d prefer.  It will also wrinkle when packed for travel, especially if you pack with compression cubes. Drying the shirt in the laundry dryer helps reduce the wrinkles but to look truly crisp, an iron is needed.

I’ve been wearing the Royal Robbins Women’s Desert Pucker Short Sleeved Shirt mostly to work, but also on a weekend camping trip to Fruita, Colorado. I absolutely love the Rosefinch color. It’s bright and cheerful and just really pops. It’s not quite “lightweight” fabric, especially when compared to the Royal Robbins Spotless Evolution Meadow short sleeve shirt.  The shirt does breathe very well and would make a nice option for hiking or camping trips where you want a bit of style to your outfit.

Closing Thoughts

The Royal Robbins Women’s Desert Pucker Short Sleeved Shirt is a fun and stylish shirt that’s great for on- and off-trail activities.  The shirt comes in a wide variety of colors (ranging from the bright to the not-so-bright) and comes in sizes small through extra-large.

2025 brings some exciting things.  Erin has qualified to be on Team USA for USA Triathlon and will be competing in a World Championship off-road triathlon in Pontevedra, Spain in June. To prepare for this event, she’s got several mountain bike races and training weekends planned in the months leading up to the big day.  Additionally, she’s racing Ironman Boise 70.3 in July.  Once her race schedule closes out in July, she’ll be moving to more adventure based activities (bikepacking, vanlife, and mountain bike festivals).
When not adventuring, she can be found on a sunny patio somewhere, drinking beers with her husband.
