HOKA Skyward Laceless Shoe
Review by Kate Agathon
I have recently begun doing PT again to treat an unstable right knee that I damaged 8 years ago while skiing. At the suggestion of a friend, I started looking into recovery shoes (I had no idea they even existed) to aid the recovery process. That is how I came across the HOKA Skyward Laceless shoe.

Designed as a recovery shoe, the HOKA Skyward Laceless shoe has special cushioning that reduces stress and improves circulation to my tired muscles.
Constructed from one piece of triple jacquard knit (87 percent recycled CDP, 7 percent spandex and 6 percent recycled nylon), the laceless shoe has a number of features that are designed to offer therapeutic benefits:
- External heel counter
- Integrated tongue pull tab
- PEBA foam on top
- Super critical EVA foam on the bottom
- Premium sockliner
- Durabrasion rubber
- Strategic rubber coverage
I had a bit of difficulty slipping my feet into the shoes the first time because the opening sock-like upper was frustratingly tight.
The next few times, I still relied on the integrated pull tab to slip my foot into the shoe, but it was somewhat easier than the initial try on.

The HOKA Skyward Laceless provided a super floaty, cushy experience. I felt like I was floating on air! They offered much-needed comfort and support.
So far, the HOKA Skyward Laceless has retained its shape and remains secure around my foot. My only complaint is how quickly the white color got dirty; even when just worn inside the gym. I haven’t worn white shoes in literally decades and now I remember why.

I like the HOKA Skyward Laceless so much that I’d consider getting another pair in a work appropriate color; especially at my weekend job where I spend all day on my feet working in shipping and receiving.
Final Thoughts
The HOKA Skyward Laceless shoe is surprisingly light and cushy. They kept my feet secure and were just super relaxing to wear.
For the last few years, I’ve been all about wearing slip on shoes, and I’m happy to have found another pair that feel good and perform well.
The HOKA Skyward Laceless is available in 14 sizes (sizes 5 to 12) and five colors (Putty/White, White/White, Rose Latte/Rose Cream, Jadeite/Sea Glass, and Black/Black).
