Kuhl Solis Hoody
Review by Kate Agathon
This spring, I am enjoying the Kuhl Solis Hoody for sunny days outdoors.

Unlike other sun hoodies, the fabric doesn’t cling to my body like a compression sausage casing. I appreciated the way the Kuhl Solis Hoody hung on my middle aged body without accentuating every unflattering curve.
Additionally, the Kuhl Solis Hoody is a nice departure from other sun hoodies for its textured fabric and subtle details. Rated UPF 30+, the light weight fabric kept me cool and protected me from the sun’s harmful rays (essential because I live in a high altitude mountain town).
Not only did I like the look of the textured Tactel® nylon blend fabric, but I liked how it felt: light and airy (almost like seer sucker) just like a warm weather top should be.
Even on the hottest days with the sun bearing down, I didn’t feel hot and sticky (there’s nothing worse than wanting to peel a shirt off). The Kuhl Solis Hoody kept me cool and dry the entire time- thanks to its unique fabric construction!

Since we live at high altitude, I try to not leave that much skin exposed. Therefore, I appreciated the thumb loops to protect my hands and also the snap adjustable hood to protect my neck. Even snapped, it allowed space for my trucker hat underneath.

I did like the unique snap feature that allowed me to create more sun coverage when needed; I liked it better than the traditional pull strings found on most hoodies. Unlike strings, a button snap closure doesn’t get in the way and it looks more refined.
The hood also featured a ponytail opening whose placement seemed a little higher than most but did the job and prevented my hair from bunching up in a tangled weird mess underneath.

Additional Features
- Constructed from Solis nylon and spandex performance fabric
- Concealed Zipper Pocket to keep essentials secure
- Quick-dry fabric
- Odor-resistant
- Minimalist Kuhl logo detail

Overall, I like the Kuhl Solis Hoody for its design and subtle features. It sets itself apart from others sun hoodies for its lightweight textured fabric that looks and feels great, even on the hottest of days.
The Kuhl Solis Hoody is available in four colors (White, Seaport, Grenadine, and Lilac) and Five sizes (XS to XL).
