Outdoor Research Ferrosi Transit Pant
Review by Kate Agathon
This spring, Outdoor Research delivers the ultimate travel pant with the trim fit Ferrosi Transit Pant.
Since the product line’s debut in 2009, I’ve been a fan of the Ferossi Collection for its lightweight stretch and its flattering silhouettes that make them ideal for travel and summer casual wear.
Before I discovered the Ferrosi Transit Pant, I had been looking at a similar ankle pant by another brand. It was stylish, but I was immediately turned off by the unpleasant weight and feel of the fabric.
Thank goodness I found the Ferrosi Transit Pant!
Now made with 46 percent recycled fabric, the Ferrosi Transit Pant encompasses everything I wanted in a travel pant: something that didn’t look overly sporty, would not wrinkle easily, and would not feel icky and hot.

Comfort and Style
My husband and I like to split our time between visiting the high desert of Colorado’s Western Slope and living in our high alpine community. The UPF 50+ rating makes these ideal for both environments and protects my skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays.
The breathable, light fabric was ideal for patio time while visiting Palisade’s wineries and walking down the sun-baked streets of Grand Junction. Despite the sun beating down, I remained cool instead of uncomfortable and hot.

Being deep into middle age, I prefer pull up pants. Unfortunately, stylish pull up pants that don’t sacrifice comfort for icky material aren’t easy to find.
Thankfully, the Ferrosi Transit Pant checked all the boxes; I especially found the elasticized pull up waist with discreet placket along the front ideal for comfort and style.

Even though they felt as comfortable as my around-the-house pants, they looked elevated and ready for any situation in the city as well as the small mountain town where I live. I loved how the tapered calf presented a tailored fit that helped me to elevate my travel look.

Features
- Quick-drying
- Breathable
- Abrasion-resistant
- Weather-resistant
- Drop-in back pockets
- Deep front pockets
- Elasticized waist
Another plus was that despite my being only 5’0”, the pants did not require hemming.

Outdoor Research Ferrosi Transit Pants are a must for people who want an elevated look with all the comfort and technology you’d expect in a pant designed for outdoor recreation.
They are available in six sizes (XS to XXL) and four colors (Dark Olive, Dark Navy, Dark Sand, Black).
