Review

The Royal Robbins Women’s Hemp Adventure Short is a lightweight summer short that’s easy to wear to a variety of outdoor activities.

The hemp and recycled polyester fabric has a nice, light weight to it.  The fabric is also super soft to the touch.

I am a size 10 on the Royal Robbins size guide; I found the Women’s Hemp Adventure Short to have a slightly relaxed fit that is true to size. The rear has an elasticized waistband, which also provides a little size flexibility.

The two front drop in pockets are very generous, extending down to the bottom hem of the shorts. The pockets easily hold a phone or keys securely.

The 6-inseam is a great length for a variety of activities.  The Royal Robbins Women’s Hemp Adventure Short easily works as a hiking short.  It also design of the short also fits into more social summer events like picnics or summer concerts.

The Royal Robbins Women’s Hemp Adventure Short washes and wears very well.  I’ve been wearing the shorts for the past month, and with each wash, the fabric does actually get softer while still looking wear-free.

While walking around, the Royal Robbins Women’s Hemp Adventure Short drapes and moves well.  There’s a tiny bit of stretch to the fabric, that helps with ease of movement.  The inner thigh also stayed put as I walked places.

The Royal Robbins Women’s Hemp Adventure Short are also quick drying.  I’ve worn the shorts on a few hot days, where the waistband got sweaty (it happens) and the shorts dried off quickly.  I’ve also somehow managed to wear the shorts during 2 surprise rainstorms that soaked the shorts.  The most recent rainstorm was during an outdoor concert.  I wasn’t going to leave my front row lawn seat because of the rain, and the bottom hem of the shorts got drenched.  Happily, by the time the set was done and it was time to walk back to the car, the shorts were completely dry.

Closing Thoughts

The Royal Robbins Women’s Hemp Adventure Short is available in two colorways (Everglades and Pecan) and with sizes ranging numerically from 2 to 16.
