Forsake Meridian Shoe – Simple and Good Looking Vegan Shoes
The Forsake Meridian $99 is a simple and good looking slip-on shoe. Bonus points for being vegan and carbon neutral. Though in good grip and you have a winner.
I have been a fan of Forsake shoes for several years. They first popped up on my radar with a cool Kickstarter for a skater shoe inspired winter waterproof boot. Yes, you read that correctly 🙂 I liked them so much that I grabbed two pair!
Slip-On and Forget about it
I do not tie my shoes (I know, I know) so I am always a fan of easy on and off. My wife is a stickler for no shoes in the home and I am constantly going in and out, so….. slip-on is a nice feature. The elastic collar does a good job of grabbing around the foot. Even my skinny feet LOL.
Another benefit of the elastic slip-on style is that there is no tongue to get in the way. A nice design feature. There are still shoelaces, so you don’t look like a total dork. Though, I am a big dork and could go either way on having the shoelaces.
This is one of the things that separates Forsake from the others. They designed a good looking shoe for travel and city use, yet throw in some good traction in case you get outside for some adventure. The “Peak to Pavement” outsole does just that. It handles pavement and dirt very well.
Forsake Meridian Review
I find that this shoe is a good mix of daily use in the city as well as spontaneous outdoor use. I used them extensivley in our gym, training clients. I kept them on when I took my own training outside into the grass and dirt. Heck, I even took them up on some light hikes in the mountains.
My wife approves of the looks, so I get to wear them in public. I approve of the function, so I tend to grab them for daily use. I am not a vegan, but I fully support the idea of using fewer animal products. This shoe is a great example that this can be done, and done so with style and function.
