New for the 2017-2018 ski and snowboard season, Giro teams up with bigtruck to offer a colorful take on some of Giro’s popular snow gear.  Between Giro’s safety tech and optics and bigtruck’s good looks, you have a form/function one-two punch.

First, some lovin’ for your dome.  The Giro Ledge is a cost-friendly helmet that features MIPS impact protection and low profile clean design.  While it doesn’t feature some of the options of fancier Giro helmets, it offers great protection for the low entry price of $80.  The Ledge isn’t new, but bigtruck’s signature graphics are – check out the mountain scene on the back of the lid and their signature coloring on the straps.  Giro removed all excuses for not having MIPS with the Ledge; bigtruck made it look sick.

To complement the bigtruck Ledge, the companies also worked together to sweeten up some goggles to match.  We checked out the Giro Onset goggle with their new VIVID lens tech.  The goggles compliment the Ledge helmet perfectly with not a hint of gaper gap.  Oddly, despite ample real estate on the strap, bigtruck chose to keep it simple with just a small addition of their logo next to Giro’s on one side and a signature, bigtruck patch on the other.  No graphics there.  But, wait…look inside!  Just like bigtruck’s trucker hats, there’s a sublimated surprise waiting for you.

The microfiber goggle storage pouch is, frankly inspirational.  One side features a Costa Rican sunset.  The other, an Icelandic winter scene, complete with aurora borealis.

bigtruck picked a perfect time to collaborate with Giro, getting in on the ground floor with the new VIVID lenses.  If you’re looking to add some mellow style to your kit next season, look no further than the Giro x bigtruck Ledge MIPS helmet and Onset goggles.  Available in September, 2017 from Giro.comand bigtruck.com, plus some select Giro retailers.  The Ledge MIPS will set you back $80 at full price and the Onset goggles will be somewhere around $150, with the VIVID lens.
