Kuhl Kultivatr Jacket Review

While uber practical puffy hooded jackets (and I have them in spades) are the norm in mountain towns ¾ of the year, there were definitely some occasions where I wanted a jacket that would keep the casual mountain vibes, but look a little more polished.

Specifically, I wanted a versatile jacket that was appropriate to wear in multiple settings (i.e. date night in Breckenridge, the farmer’s market, brunch in the city, summer concerts at the Dillon Amphitheater) from late spring to early fall.
Kuhl Kultivatr Jacket – Elevevated and Refined Jean Jacket
Fortunately, just in time for patio season, I discovered the Kuhl Kultivatr Jacket in Stone. It turned out to be exactly what I was looking for!
The Kultivatr jacket basically functions as an elevated jean jacket, but with a more refined structure.

Constructed from stretch twill Kultivatr fabric (cotton, modal, lyocell, elasterell and lycra), the Kultivatr jacket has six pockets (two deep inside pockets, two hand pockets, and two chest pockets) and features engraved Kuhl metal buttons. There is also a discreet Kuhl logo placed along the top back.
The Kultivatr jacket is garment-dyed for a unique look and is available in six colors (Sage, Stone, Flint Blue, Wildwood, Pavement, and Clay) and six sizes (XS to 1X). Unlike many boxy jean jackets, the Kultivatr jacket features a timeless cut, so it is suitable to wear over a dress or skirt and still look put together.
Because it can be dressed up or dressed down, the Kultivatr jacket is perfect for traveling as well. I found myself bringing it along whenever we headed down the mountain on visits to Denver.
I opted for the neutral Stone color (which seemed a little more tan than depicted online) because it goes with basically anything I wear.

Overall, the fit was fine in the torso and shoulders, but the arms were too long so I had to roll up the cuffs. Maybe in the future, extended sizes can be offered because it really is a nice jacket.
Softer than expected, the unlined Kultivatr jacket isn’t as heavy as denim, but provides enough heft to keep the goosebumps away when worn in a cold room or outdoors.
The Kultivatr jacket is now a wardrobe staple in my closet. If you buy one fashionable jacket this spring, I recommend this one because it can be worn practically anywhere with anything. I know that I will be wearing this well into autumn.
