During our visit, we got to step into the lab, meet the experts, and even test the equipment ourselves. BOA is able to simulate nearly every condition in the lab, and when real-world testing is required, they head to the mountains with a mobile testing unit. One highlight was jumping on a WattBike paired with a 3D modeling program similar to those used in gaming. We were fitted with First Generation Canyon TEMPR CFR XC Gravel shoes for a max watts test. Hailey Moore and I were brave enough to volunteer. Hailey, an absolute wizard on the bike, likely pushed close to 1,000 watts in her test. The experience was thrilling, and seeing the real-time data—cadence, knee movement, and even the pressure on the soles—offered fascinating insights into the BOA Fit System’s impact on performance.

However, unexpected scenarios do happen—perhaps in your excitement to open your new product, you accidentally cut the BOA cable. But rest assured, in 99% of cases, the BOA Fit System is more than durable enough to handle whatever you throw at it.
