Stio Slipstone Japanese Denim Shirt

The Stio Slipstone Japanese Denim Shirt is the perfect go-anywhere, wear-every day fall shirt.

I’ve owned several denim shirts over the years, and Stio’s is my absolute favorite for its overall stylish design and construction.

The quality of the material is borderline luxurious. Constructed from Kaihara Japanese 100 percent Organic Cotton Denim, the shirt is just the right weight for fall.

Unlike other denim shirts I’ve worn in the past, the Stio Slipstone Japanese Denim Shirt is neither too flimsy, nor is it too heavy and rough.

Look and Fit

Unlike the denim shirt fad of the 1990s, Stio’s casual denim is surprisingly refined.

Thoughtful design details include shirttail hem, Western-style pointed yoke, Stio pearl-snap closures along the shirt cuffs, chest pockets, and front placket, and subtly pointed dual chest pocket flaps.

Wear it tucked in or hanging out, pair it with a henley underneath or by itself, the Stio Slipstone Japanese Denim is stylish fun and drapes nicely.

Described as having a casual shape that is not too tight and not too baggy, I would have preferred it to be a bit more tailored.

However, the shape didn’t detract from its style. Because Stio paid so much attention to design details, I received a lot of compliments on its Western-inspired design.

Like a favorite pair of jeans, I found myself wearing it more often than I expected. It just went with everything!

Overall Thoughts

In recent years, denim shirts have become more of a wardrobe staple piece than a passing fad.

I especially noticed them being worn by women in Victoria, British Columbia when I was traveling earlier this year.

I would recommend ordering a size down. I typically wear a size small. However, in this case, the extra small provided a much better fit.

Available in five sizes (XS to XL) and two colors (medium denim and denim), the Stio Slipstone Japanese Denim is durable and well-crafted. I look forward to wearing this timeless look for years to come.
