Phunkshun Shifts To Make Personal Hygiene Masks – Worn by Colorado Governor Jared Polis
Starting this afternoon, personal hygiene masks will be available at www.phunkshunwear.com. For every mask sold to the public on their website, Phunkshun is donating one to the State of Colorado to be dispersed to individuals in need.
On April 3rd, Governor Jared Polis appeared on television, wearing a Colorado branded personal hygiene mask, encouraging all Coloradans to cover up when heading outdoors. That personal hygiene mask was created by Phunkshun Wear, a Denver-based winter facemask manufacturer, that has shifted its operation to making personal hygiene masks to fight the spread of COVID-19.
Governor Polis is urging Coloradans to wear masks made out of cloths and fabrics to curb the spread of COVID-19. Wearing a mask from Phunkshun Wear prevents you from touching your face, which is very important for people that do go outside to refrain from doing. It’s also a visual trigger to remind everyone to practice social distancing. The masks are made from a Polyester/Spandex blend of fabric, with the inner lining being a moisture wicking antimicrobial mesh that inhibits the growth bacteria. The outer shell is a dye-sublimated anti-microbial poly spandex blend.
“Phunkshun has always been a supporter of social and environmental initiatives, so this effort is exactly aligned with who we are as a brand,” said CEO, Jason Badgley. “This initiative is also supporting the local and domestic economy during this difficult economic time. It’s an easy decision to make, we’re all in this together.”
