1UP Xtreme Duty Bike Rack – Perfect for Heavy E Bikes and Fatbikes

1UP Xtreme Duty Bike Rack – Perfect for Heavy E Bikes and Fatbikes
The 1UP Xtreme Duty Bike Rack ($850) is the most heavy-duty bike rack we have ever seen. Capable of holding two 150lb bikes. Built in the USA and made to withstand serious use. This is THE bike rack for heavy e-bikes and fat bikes. We happen to have a few full-suspension e-fat bikes we are testing (QuiteKat Ibex review here), so this rack is a perfect fit.
Most bike racks can not handle these heavier e-bikes. So, 1UP built the Xtreme Duty Bike Rack to handle this segment of the bike market. Capable of bikes ranging from 16″ – 29″ and up to 5″ tires. Making this a very versatile bike rack.

1UP Xtreme Duty Bike Rack Review
The Xtreme Duty rack comes with one tray standard. You can add an additional tray if needed ($600). Another handy tool they have is the Xtreme Duty Wheel Chock ($110). This is basically a vice system that holds the bike tire in place very well. It is good for heavier bikes and for serious off-road use.

We are testing the rack just as it is being released, so we wanted to get a review and video up ASAP to help you all figure out if this is the right rack for you. So far, this has been the most capable bike rack we have used for e-fat bikes.
The unit came to us in a few boxes, and the instructions were a little over our heads. But the assembly was not too challenging. It takes about 30 minutes from the box to being ready to use it with a bike on it.

The build quality is astonishing. 1UP racks are made in the USA, and the materials are top-notch. You can feel the craftsmanship in this rack. The red of the knobs really pops with the black and metal finish. Every detail in the rack is a work of metal art. I can see why so many people are fanatical about 1UP now.

Most importantly, the rack securely holds bikes in place, even on off-road terrain and over bumps. This rack does not sway or rattle. I never felt the need to check on the bikes when we were heading off-road and over rough terrain. I have had bikes fall off other racks and would even add tie-down straps to them to secure the bikes. No need for that with the XD rack!

In the video, you will see us using many of the Xtreme Duty accessories. The long ramp was helpful for walking the bikes onto the rack and stores on top of the rack when not in use. The wheel locks are impressive as well. They lock through the rack and wheel to secure the bike.

I feel like they thought of everything with this rack. It is sturdy as heck, can hold more weight than any bike rack I have seen, looks great, is built in the USA, and just works. Some assembly is required, but it is not too hard. If you have heavy e fat bikes and are looking for a way to safety transport them in rough conditions – this is for you.
Overall, the Xtreme Duty rack gets high honors here at Engearment!
