Oiselle Squared Up Bra

Review by Erin Trail

The Oiselle Squared Up Bra is a fun option for women athletes who want a sports bra with an adjustable band and A-C support. It’s also really cute and has an unexpected – but amazing – “magic” trick.

Detailed Review

I have pretty basic needs when it comes to a sports bra.  I like it to fit and be comfortable.  The Oiselle Squared Up Bra does just that and so much more.

The front of the Oiselle Squared Up Bra is fairly full coverage, coming up fairly high in the neckline with wide shoulder straps.  There are removable cups, which I could do without, but also, they didn’t shift around in the wash like other removable cups tend to do.  The fabric is Oiselle’s Plya fabric, which is a 76% Polyester, 24% Spandex blend, rated at medium compression.

I’ve been wearing the Oiselle Squared Up Bra for a wide variety of activities: running, cycling, lifting weights, and hot yoga.

The back design is what really makes the Oiselle Squared Up Bra stand out from the crowd.  The open back looks really fun while you’re wearing it, giving things a bit of style.  I also noticed that the design of the back of the bra, with the fabric going down my shoulder blades vertically gives an unexpected layer of support to my back.  When wearing the Oiselle Squared Up Bra, I find myself naturally squaring my shoulders and keeping my chest more open.

I found the support and compression to be more than adequate.  I felt comfortable but always able to take a full breath. The adjustable band gives the Oiselle Squared Up Bra sizing flexibility as well.  The fabric breathed and moved well, even during 95+ degree hot yoga sessions.

And the magic trick I alluded to at the start of the review.

All women know the struggle of trying to wrestle a sweaty sports bra off when you’re done with your workout.  It’s a real struggle.

But here’s the special sauce with the Oiselle Squared Up Bra.  The hook and eye closure lets you open up the bra and then it just pops right off, even with you are soaked with sweat. Another fun party trick – one that I’ve never been able to do with a sports bra – is being able to take the Oiselle Squared Up Bra off without removing my shirt.  I can just undo the clasps, put one arm inside my shirt, and the bra easily comes off without removing my shirt.  My brain exploded – in a good way – when I realized I could do this in a sports bra.

Closing Thoughts

The Oiselle Squared Up Bra is a sweaty girl’s dream come true. The sports bra does all of the standard sports bra things (and does them well): support, comfort, breathability.  But the design of the bra, with the open back and the hook closures are what gives this bra extra oomph.  The styling is unique and fun. The adjustable back means that you spare yourself from the usual sweaty wrestling match of removing the bra after a workout.  As for magic tricks, it’s up to you if you want to show those off with an audience or in private.

The Oiselle Squared Up Bra is available in several colorways (usually changing seasonally) in sizes ranging from 2 to 14.

She is even known to combine her love of camping and cycling and go off on solo 24 hour overnight bikepacking trips in the mountains of Colorado. In addition to bikes, she teaches yoga, lifts weights, skis, SUPs and has recently purchased a campervan.

Fall and winter 2025 will bring Erin to the “Adventure Side”, with many camping, vanlife, bikepacking, and mountain bike rides. Once the snow flies, she can be find resort skiing, fat biking, and triathlon training (inside and outside).
2026 will bring a National Championship Cross Tri race, a National Championship Road Sprint and Olympic Distance race, and hopefully a chance to represent Team USA once again in 2027 in Edmonton, Canada. She’ll also save lots of room for adventure time with her friends and husband.
When not adventuring, she can be found on a sunny patio somewhere, drinking beers with her husband.
