Fjallraven has several technical backpacks in their line up. The Fjallraven Abisko Friluft 45 and other packs in the line feature a lighter weight version of their G-1000 Eco-fabric. It is a bit thinner and is made of recycled polyester and cotton. The 45-liter Friluft backpack gobbled up all the essentials for a winter hike with ease. The suspension system and multiple access points really impressed us.

Fjallraven Friluft backpacks feature a trampoline system.

Much like some other manufacturers. This is used to keep the backpack off your back and allow sweat to wick. I have found these designs to help with keeping my back cool. Although you do lose a little space inside the pack to accommodate for the trampoline suspension system. Keep this in mind if you looking at backpacks with this system.

The Fjallraven backpack had all the usual features – zippered hip pockets, hydration sleeve, zippered pocket on top lid, and external zippered pocket on the main body. The feature that really impressed me was the ability to open the backpack up like a suitcase. There are 2 zippers that run from the top to the bottom of the backpack, on either side. This allows access to the entire contents of the main compartment.
