Cotopaxi Cambio Jumpsuit

Review by Erin Trail

The Cambio Jumpsuit is a fun addition to the women’s Cotopaxi clothing line that combines adventure and function.

Features:

  • UPF 50+ protection
  • Anti-static
  • Center zipper for easy on and off
  • Rib cuff at leg opening
  • Elastic waistband with drawcord for adjustability and comfort
  • 2 front hand pockets
  • 1 secure zippered pocket

The jumpsuit is made from 86% recycled polyester and 14% spandex, with a water repellant finish. The fabric is light and breathable with just the right amount of stretch. The fabric is also completely opaque.

Fit and Function

I had a big trip planned for June and I thought the Cotopaxi Cambio Jumpsuit would be a fun travel option. What I didn’t realize is that this jumpsuit is quickly becoming a staple in my daily wardrobe.  The jumpsuit is great because it’s a self-contained outfit.  No matching, no trying to figure out what top goes with what bottom.  It’s also great because the fabric is relatively wrinkle free.  I can toss it into my gym bag in the evening and have a (casual) office-ready outfit with zero effort waiting for me after my morning swim the next day.

I got the Cotopaxi Cambio Jumpsuit in Silver Leaf, which is a fun color that goes with nearly everything.  While being on the lighter side of the color spectrum, the fabric is solidly opaque.  And thanks to the water resistant coating, it can handle some spills if your lunch somehow gets out of hand.

The design of the Cotopaxi Cambio Jumpsuit lends itself to a wide variety of body shapes. I have long legs and a short torso.  The waistband features a wide ruched elastic.  Depending on your body type, you can place the waist low or high, with both placements looking great.

The ankles have a chunky elastic cuff that hits me right at the ankles, giving the lower part of the jumpsuit a bit of shape and style.  The jumpsuit looks good with low rise casual sneakers or flip flops, making it a good option for warmer weather or for shoulder season.

The pockets of the Cotopaxi Cambio Jumpsuit are well placed, at hip level with an angular hand entry. There’s also a bonus inner zipper pocket, sized to fit smaller valuables.

The zipper in the bodice of the Cotopaxi Cambio Jumpsuit is a chunkier zipper, which adds a bit of sporty style.  The zipper goes from the neckline to the waistline, for easier on and off.  This is my first jumpsuit, so I don’t have much to compare it to.  Getting the top on and off isn’t hard…. but it isn’t exactly easy.  I have some shoulder mobility restrictions, and it took a few tries, but I think I have figured out the best arm/shoulder pretzel to get the jumpsuit on and off without too much trouble.

I do find that Cotopaxi trends a bit small and the Cambio Jumpsuit is no exception.  According to the size guide, I should be a size small.  I ordered a medium and I’m happy with how it fits.  The recycled polyester fabric has a slight brush too it, making the fabric feel super soft to the touch.

Moving around in the Cotopaxi Cambio Jumpsuit is really easy.  I’m able to do just about anything while wearing it, making it a solid option for both sedentary and active days.

It also looks really stylish.  Every time I wear it, I get compliments.

The Cotopaxi Cambio Jumpsuit is available in 3 colors (silver leaf, blue smoke, and black) and ranges in sizes from XS to XL.

2025 brings some exciting things.  Erin has qualified to be on Team USA for USA Triathlon and will be competing in a World Championship off-road triathlon in Pontevedra, Spain in June. To prepare for this event, she’s got several mountain bike races and training weekends planned in the months leading up to the big day.  Additionally, she’s racing Ironman Boise 70.3 in July.  Once her race schedule closes out in July, she’ll be moving to more adventure based activities (bikepacking, vanlife, and mountain bike festivals).
When not adventuring, she can be found on a sunny patio somewhere, drinking beers with her husband.
