Nebu Mojito Shorts
Review by Will Trail
Initial Impressions
The Nebu Mojito mountain bike shorts are designed as a true trail-ready solution — built to perform just as well on the bike as they do off it, whether you’re hiking, relaxing, or tackling post-ride errands. With several available inseam lengths, they strike a great balance between coverage, mobility, and comfort.

Materials and Fit
Nebu designed the Mojito shorts with an active fit that moves with your body, not against it. A gusseted crotch helps prevent chafing and those “naturally occurring wedgies” that can ruin a good ride.
The shorts use a lightweight, 4-way stretch fabric that’s breathable, moisture-wicking, and quick-drying — perfect for managing sweat or unexpected weather. Heat dissipates easily through the fabric, and the premium YKK zippers add a reassuring sense of durability and quality.
For a secure, adjustable fit, the Mojitos include both reinforced belt loops and an internal drawstring, while the soft, sweat-wicking waistband prevents rubbing and irritation on long rides — a welcome upgrade from typical MTB shorts.

Three inseam lengths are available (7, 9, and 11 inches); I went with the 11-inch option since it matched my usual riding shorts.
Pockets and Storage
Utility is clearly a major focus. The Nebu Mojito shorts boast a total of eight pockets, ensuring you can carry essentials securely without being weighed down. The storage system includes:
- Two deep front pockets
- Two internal “secret sleeve” tech pockets (located inside the main pockets)
- Two zippered thigh pockets
- One back hooded pocket
- One coin pocket
This extensive pocket layout is complemented by a heavy-duty utility loop, making the shorts exceptionally functional for hiking, climbing, or any outdoor activity.

Performance
I wore the Nebu Mojito shorts on nearly a dozen rides ranging from 5 to 20 miles. I quickly came to appreciate the thoughtful pocket design. My car keys stayed secure in a zippered pocket, while the deep front pockets were perfect for gels and snacks. The inner “secret sleeves” held my phone snugly in place — no bouncing, no shifting, and offered a little extra protection from a second fabric layer.

The fit is relaxed enough to allow free movement when pedaling or shifting around the bike, and the shorts work smoothly with or without knee pads. There is plenty of room for chamois shorts underneath without running into space limitations. I did not have any issues with the shorts catching on the saddle during more exaggerated moves.
While shorter inseams could offer a bit more cooling, I never experienced overheating with the 11-inch length. Even in temperatures between 60°F and 85°F, the Mojitos stayed perfectly comfortable.
The soft waistband deserves another mention — it never rubbed or irritated the skin, even during longer rides. I tested a 38″ waist, which fit true to size, and the drawstrings made it easy to fine-tune the fit. These could even double as post-ride swim shorts.

On the trail, the Mojitos disappeared in the best way — I simply didn’t notice them, which to me is the sign of great design and functionality. Off the bike, they transition seamlessly into social or hiking use, and once again, the pocket layout proved useful for phone, wallet, and key storage.
The shorts are available in four colorways; the Flint version I tested paired nicely with a variety of jerseys and shirts. After multiple rides, they still look new — no frayed seams or signs of wear so far.
Closing Thoughts
Overall, the Nebu Mojito shorts have earned a permanent spot in my riding rotation. They hit that sweet spot between trail performance and off-bike comfort, with a fit that just works.
The fabric is lightweight, breathable, and stretchy, moving naturally with every pedal stroke. It’s also durable enough to handle repeated rides without fading, fraying, or losing shape, while the premium YKK zippers and reinforced stitching add extra peace of mind. The waistband is soft and secure — perfect for long days on the trail.
Storage is dialed. Deep pockets, hidden inner sleeves, and zippered thigh pockets mean everything has its place without adding bulk. Nebu clearly thought about how people actually use their gear.
Once the ride is over, the shorts transition easily to hanging out or hiking without looking out of place. Simply put, the Mojito shorts combine smart design, solid build quality, and legit trail performance. Nebu nailed the details, and it shows every time you ride in them.
